I was only in review for one freaking day, I wonder what that could mean...

Edit*
I called USC admiss office and asked them if there was any way to find out... they said you have to wait for the letter in the mail.

They said letters are going out this friday.

I asked if the decisions are mixed based on whether or not accepted, rejected, or waitlisted - she laughed and said that they are grouped... so, hope we can figure out asap whether this friday's batch is in or out?

so i guess we know for sure that all DF's are the same decisions. good luck guys!

173/3.2

FUCK all the shitty numbers ppl went df today huh?
I was NOT expecting a rejection, I was expecting a waitlist... They said it was grouped decisions though?

Do rejections and waitlists typically go out as a group?

Some ppl here are straight rejects.

i cant believe they rejected a 173/3.2 outright... that's total waitlist material!

Great, D/F today roo (w borderline #'s, 'decent' LSAT for USC)..
May not be going to LS at all, this is my 2nd app cycle, just can't seem to get into any good CA schools..
Pretty frustrating considering all the effort put in and being a non-trad with some decent softs.. I know I'm not alone in this thread at all, not feeling great about LS admissions right now

everyone knows CA seems to have GPA fetish.

but they haven't even mailed the letter yet (friday) so you guys never know. i assume they would need splitters to increase their LSAT 75% since its been stagnant at 167 for both median and 75%, and UCLA is pulling further and further away.

if you have borderline GPA, and an LSAT that isn't 166 or lower, you should have a good shot. if its 166 then yea... huge wall there. what do you mean 'decent' LSAT for USC? thats 167 or higher and apparently 166 and lower is a crap shoot for USC.

1/14 complete... 3/31 Decision Finalized. IDK exactly when I went IR, but no more than 4 or 5 days ago I was still complete.

Yeah I'm right on that edge there.. great.. Heh I still have the rejection letter from last year. Thought applying early would help, that uh doesn't do a lot when you're complete for months..
Either $$$ or straight up rejected so far from everywhere else

Also, is Santa Monica too far from campus?? Heard the school's vicinity isn't the most crime-free neighborhood

I'm also DF 3/31. I went under review 3/26. 3.0/168, life threatening illness during UG (1.8 freshman yr/ 3.7 senior yr) From the stats I've seen so far, I think there is still hope for our batch. Hopefully 3/31 will go down in history as "Trojan Splitters Day"...

btw dcrlo3, Santa Monica isn't too far. Just make sure you have easy access to the 10 freeway. I live in SaMo with my bf who is currently a 3L at USC. The commute is only 20-25 min.

It really depends on when you are looking to go to and from school. The 10 can be absolute murder during rush hour. I spent four years commuting from East SaMo to USC, and that drive can up to 2 hours. Los Angeles is scary.

Generally it is not too bad because most people are commuting in the opposite direction. It was definitely worse when he was a 1L with a schedule similar to 9-5. But I agree, every now and then there are those 2 hour days...

so... if 9-5 (I'll be 1L :D ) When would I need to leave -- not sure exact SaMo location.. (2 hrs there and back?)

Traffic in LA is pretty unpredictable, but yeah it can take 2 hours. It's almost better to go at off-hour times, and build a work-out schedule or study time into your time on campus to pad it out a bit.

thebadpancake...you ever try the underground to downtown, and take the free shuttle in from the station? Might be an interesting alternative....

There are other, closer alternatives to SaMo, like some places in downtown, or Silver Lake/NoHo, or WeHo, and even some near USC, etc, but I know the beach is pretty alluring to those who are new to the West Coast...

SaMo to USC commute just take Olympic both ways during rush hour and you're good.

I live in Venice right now, which is just south of SaMo. I can take Jefferson right over to USC in about 30min which will beat anything during rush hour.

He used to leave the house at 7:45am. Most of the time he made it there early and did reading for class.

DF 3/31 is a reject pile. I e-mailed admissions office to find out and their response all but 100% confirmed it.
