Barring a game changer (Yale, Harvard, Columbia--which are far-fetched, I know) I am leaning heavily toward NYU. But, I just got my acceptance packet from BU in the mail, and they're offering $35K per year. I don't really want to go to school for money. (I turned down where I really wanted to go for undergrad in order to go to Michigan because they gave me money, and, while I didn't hate Michigan, I regret my choice.) But, I don't know how to justify turning down money.

Thoughts?

Go spend a day at each of the schools to figure out where would be a best fit for you. If you don't care about money, I'd definitely choose NYU. Job prospects, prestige, and all that are going to be better at NYU, but if you find out you like BU a lot and you have almost full-tuition paid, that could be a good deal for you, too.

I just withdrew from a few schools yesterday and I felt that it was so hard to let the money go. However, it's much easier to do after you make a visit and decide how much you like the school and how much you like the school's location. Good luck!

You will make that $105k up by ballin out of control from NYU. I'd pick NYU @sticker over BU with $105k. I know it's difficult, but a T6 is a T6. And you get to be in NYC. Now if you don't want to do biglaw, don't take NYU @ sticker...go to BU

I am too lazy to search the site for WL advice...This may be somewhat of an accomplishment though not really..

158/4 non urm

GW waitlist- submitted app around January 20th

Anyone have any advice how to get off or how to maximize my chances of off the WL?

Best options are like everyone: Go to the school, sit in on a class, make mental notes as to what you like best, the professor's name, etc and then you prepare a luscious LOCI about how amazing the experience was. That's about all you can do.

UM. THE CHOICE IS OBVI. NYU, baby! =)

But, honestly, if you're pursuing public interest, go to BU. If you think you can make it rain, T6.

I have, but I'm URM; so unless you are as well, my cycle probably isn't helpful to you.

Waitlisted (i.e. soft-rejected) at Vandy, but willing to ride this one out. I'm toying with the idea of taking the June LSAT in hopes of reaching the upper 160s (at least) and getting off of the WL.

It has been quite sometime since i have posted here:

Widener Law School: In with a full scholarship.

Rutgers-Newark: Deferred until further dates (March or April).

NYLS: Accepted

Queens CUNY Law School: Accepted

153/3.98

For those who will visit future threads such as this when choosing law schools or gauging their ability to be accepted, do not feel as if your LSAT score will hold you back.

It's been kind of a busy two weeks. Just got back from spring to acceptances from Cornell, Fordham, and Brooklyn. :)

Now, if only the last four would answer me, my cycle could be over.
