Splat why didn't you apply to NU. But either way congrats on that fullride. Getting a fullride is tough for a splitter even at lower ranked schools.

Future splitters who might be reading this thread, throw out an app to St. John's in New York if you're looking to get money from a tier 2, they hand out full scholarships to over 10% of the incoming class and show lots of splitter love.

3.24, 165 here. 1 Admit, 4 Waitlist, 1 Pending.
Admit- LSU - complete 2/24
Waitlist- Florida - complete 1/26
Georgia - complete 1/26
GA State- complete 2/12
Tulane - complete 3/1
Pending- Colorado - just went complete
Applying late clearly hurt me, but I am still confused about the GSU WL.

You really need to wait a year and try again and apply to Northwestern.badpixie wrote:175 / 3.0 here. Non-trad with great WE and strong upward GPA trend.

WL at Columbia... sort of a victory for splitter-kind, I guess, except it just means I'm going to be rejected later rather than right now. Got locked out of both the T13 train and the caboose, so we'll see what tidings the summer months bring.

YAY!! Congrats, that is so exciting!beef wellington wrote:Got into GULC last week off the SPWL.
Also, splitter cycle update: I'm heading to UGA unless Vandy pulls me from the WL. Got some nice acceptances for my numbers but no $$ and they weren't nice enough for me to pull the trigger on 200k of debt.

175/3.0 non-trad with WE gets at least a waitlist at NU early in the cycle. I think you set your sights far too low.
You applied too late in the cycle. If you had applied to UVA in October you'd probably have been an admit.

If I were that poster I'd ED to NU or UVA. Or realistically UVA then NU.TCS wrote:+over9000Desert Fox wrote:You really need to wait a year and try again and apply to Northwestern.badpixie wrote:175 / 3.0 here. Non-trad with great WE and strong upward GPA trend.

Have you heard back from NU, encyclopedia? After I got my rejection from them, I actually thought to myself, "The only way I'll be okay with this is if Encyclopedia Brown gets in."Encyclopedia Brown wrote:Beef, tell them to let your good buddy Encyclopedia in as well. Unfortunately living outside the northeast is not really an option for me, NU was just not meant to be... The full ride definitely makes my life a lot easier, so I'm still pretty psyched!Desert Fox wrote:Splat why didn't you apply to NU. But either way congrats on that fullride. Woah, sorry it took me so long to see this. I'm nervous about being the only splitter still in here late in the summer, going "Hey, where is everybody?" Anyway, no, I haven't heard back from NU, and it looks like the folks on hold probably won't until the end of this month. I expect a WL at best, but who knows.pertristis wrote:Have you heard back from NU, encyclopedia?
