Another almost-Conman numbers twin :D

Only 3 weeks in review! It's time to get really anxious!

No need to freak out. They still have a lot of acceptances to give out (according to FB group).

This one's quite fishy, unless, of course, he's an Asha Auto Admit.

I received an LSN message from him, so seems pretty legit. He has a hard science background, getting masters now.

I dunno. The turnaround wasn't as fast as the turnaround for tomhobbes. And I'm 50-60% sure that tomhobbes is legit.

I don't know if that is generous or stingy.

Not freaking out, but excited that maybe my app is being reviewed right now 8)

So it begins.

Yeah wow, complete 4 days before me. He's probably an Asha-admit though, which I would most certainly not be.

If Asha admits a 171/3.9 then anything could happen.

Peter North wrote:tomhobbes is sarcastic, witty and unpredictable. He's the prefect YLS type. Also, tomhobbes is very intelligent (at least that's what a perusal of his TLS posts allude to). He's one of my fav posters, just as so many of you on the HLS/YLS threads are.

tomhobbes is legit. In fact, IIRC, he even posted about his YLS acceptance long before the YLS admissions twitter page was updated about the 203 calls during H's ASW.

Look, it's quite easy to tell as to who's a "serious" YLS/HLS applicant and likely to be accepted. Surely, there are some trolls on here who have nothing better to do than banter away (very few), but most of you folks on this thread are legit HLS/YLS gunners. That's a good thing.

Just in case anyone else didn't get it, my "I'm 50-60% sure that tomhobbes is legit" line was a complete joke. I think, and have always thought, that tomhobbes is a legitimate poster, and I have no doubt that he's a 2010 applicant who was accepted by YLS.

TLS' catwoman (LSN's tabby1686) was Asha-admitted with a 170, 3.95 (HYP). I dunno. It happens, but it's rare.

What's an Asha-admit?

An applicant who was directly admitted without first going to faculty review.

What's an Asha-admit?

someone who was admitted by Asha, without needing faculty review

Oh ok. How does one know who is an Asha-admit, though? Just based on timing?

That seems to be the basis for the assumption.

Unless faculty review takes less time than we all assumed, which is even better news.

In! I wasn’t expecting to hear anything back for weeks – I applied on the very last day and only went complete on March 12. I’m utterly in shock.
