Colubmia's the Lions, Princeton's the Tigers, Brown's the Bears, Penn's the Quakers (definitely the most intimidating).

At least Stamford is located in the financial capital of Connecticut. BoalTTT is in Oakland - the most dangerous city in America.
Only if you hate the Black Panthers or you're a Broncos fan.

And, of course, the Yale Bulldogs. Though Yale's bulldog is nowhere near as famous as Uga, the UGA bulldog.

Uga's bulldog does not have a name like "Handsome Dan."

True, but his name is Uga, which is a great name for a bulldog (albeit an unimaginative one).

Penn (State), the Fightin' Quakers!

I wonder how many schools have tigers as mascots...Missouri, Princeton, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Memphis...

That's the great thing about being a color. We are the only Cardinal (though people often add an "s" and think we're the bird, like Louisville or the MLB team in St. Louis / NFL team in Glendale, Ariz.).

We're the Tigers, though in 1992 we unsuccessfully tried to become the Cutthroat Trout, and in 2007 we unsuccessfully tried to become the Yeti.

Really? No, I'm pretty sure they are the same.

Those are amazing mascots. I'm sad neither passed

You could've been both unique and cool, though. Say, the Cardinal Cutthroat Trout?

I spent too much time writing that message and missed your "Really?" comment. My bad

I'm sure that it will resurface, though!

Oh my god.
The student vote to become the Cutthroats failed by 1 percent...the Board wouldn't approve the Yeti (though we would've been the very first school in the nation to have a Yeti mascot).

I'm a little bitter about both.

Surely you would've been the first with a trout as your mascot as well.

Could you possibly post a link to the 2011 thread (or do you remember what the thread title was? Yale Class of 2011 doesn't seem to cut it)? I just searched in "Discuss your law school" and couldn't find it.

Thanks!

And once again we've managed to turn the Yale thread into our own personal lounge, replete with absolutely no talk of Yale. Success!

EDIT: Damn you duodora and Pausanias for daring to keep this thread on topic!

As for intriguing mascots (as opposed to the dull felines, canines, bears and birds) I like the UCSB Gauchos. It's both esoteric and badass.

Don't return to lurking. This thread is in desperate need of some variety.
