So the discussion that followed my post seemed to confirm my post. Is this correct? I win?

Small sample seems to indicate yes.

NYU rejected 2 applicants with those numbers?? I didn't know how lucky I was!

It's in a table like this where you can really tell the difference between Yale/Stanford and Harvard:

Not sure how much can be extrapolated from some of these tiny sample sizes.

Be that as it may, that is a telling table.

EDIT: Yes, I am trying to make myself feel better after not getting a JR2.

I think you'll get it crackberry, might just have to wait a little longer. The 3.9 from a top10 university seems to actually work pretty well for HLS, unless its inflated by transfer credit. A girl at my school (top 20) got a JR2 already with a LSAT below median.

Well I certainly appreciate the optimism, but I'm below HLS' 25th for LSAT and just below the 75th for GPA. I think if my GPA had been about .03 higher, I'd have had a better shot as that would have made me a reverse splitter.

There are a few people - BaiAilian and Gargamel in particular - who I really think will get one and the fact that they haven't yet gives me hope. But I'm not holding my breath. I really want Stanford anyway, and I just have to hope that my 3.9+ from Stanford UG gets me in that door.

Not sure why is is douchey to suggest that Yale requires softs, not just numbers. They are the number one school, admit a tiny class, and don't need to be numbers obsessed with a high yield and attracting the best candidates.

It was more the follow-around-Managamy-flinging-insults that I was referring to. Pretty sure you were aware of that already, though.

Doesn't this comment belong on the Stanford thread? I suspect that their Dean would find it more inspiring reading than the Yale Dean.

This is called subtly negging the hot girl so that she chases after you instead. Also called complimenting her friends instead of the one u'r interested in.

LOL, I used to try that subtle tactic sometimes but I must have messed something up along the way, since it never worked for me as well as the straight-up, practical approach. If a resume documenting relationship stability / durability were a criterion for law school, I'd be going to Cooley.

Let's be serious. Stanford is No. 1. Yale is a TTT and Harvard is a degree mill.

I'd be going to Princeton with Phillip Banks. Girlfriend from sophomore year HS through freshman year -> new girlfriend from sophomore year of college through the present. Yikes.

Where did that post go about YLS announcing via Twitter that its first decisions will be going out this week?

(Wow people are deleting posts all over this thread.)

Meh. Any hopes that my HLS acceptance might have briefly fostered about my getting into Yale are quickly evaporating since I've been getting no love whatsoever from Berkeley. Ah well!
