I keep getting phone calls from (302). But it doesn't really quite get me since there is no way I am complete yet lol
It's not his number. He was calling from a friend's phone with a 203 number. Hence his preemption. He's even more invested in this process than I am.
Helicopter parents ftw!
He's not quite a helicopter parent, he's just really excited that I'm going to law school. I called him at work a few weeks ago and he admitted to buying a Stanford mug; I informed him he has a problem :)

This is the Yale thread, we don't play that.

Yale's number shows up on the caller ID when they call you. It's the same number that is on their website.

BTW, how odd to be discussing Yale in the Yale thread.

I don't know if we are at the stage where we remembr Yale's number yet.

I couldn't quite get into the bantering.

Can someone explain something to me?

I was looking at LSN today at the Harvard numbers types. Why are there so many applicants with 177+ LSATs and good GPAs who do not apply to Yale? Or are they not listing Yale because they fear the ex-FBI? It's lunacy either way.

In a typical year, doesn't Harvard get twice as many applications as Yale? For whatever reason, there are some applicants--even ones with high GPAs and LSAT scores--who just aren't interested in Yale.

Dignan hit the nail on the head. Many of my friends with stellar stats didn't apply to Yale because they simply weren't interested in attending.

I also have a lot of friends who didn't apply because they felt they had no reasonable shot of getting in.

+1. Not for my friends (I don't really have any applying to law school) but for me. The main reason I didn't apply was that I didn't have much interest in attending and the #2 reason was that I was afraid of a ding.

I think some people also get application fatigue and don't want to deal with the 250. That said, don't underestimate the number of people who don't put down schools that they've applied to but haven't heard from. I know lots of people do that, too.

Just out of curiosity, why do people do that?

Maybe people don't want to advertise that they didn't get in to certain schools? High achievers easily embarassed?

rofl. Yeah, Managamy used to do it. He wanted to stay inconspicuous as a 178 / 4.1 applicant straight from Stanford UG.
