Re: Yale 2010
Nothing at all either here or on LSN??? I can't believe that no TLS-ers were in this group. Although my file was complete too late (11/19) to have much hope for today, I imagined that I would see some happy faces around here when I woke up this morning.
Perhaps we shouldn't pay as much attention to Yale's Twitter account.

The early bird gets the worm, Managamy. Waking up at 11:30 does not qualify you as the early bird.managamy wrote:Nothing at all either here or on LSN??? Hahaha, yes it does.
I like sleeping late during the cycle because usually most of the action is over before I get up. It allows me to check everything for the day just one time and then focus on other activities without worrying about my phone or email.
To be completely honest, I just like sleeping late anyway.

So we don't have to count speeding tickets that were infractions, correct?

Re: Yale 2010
As far as I understand, no one on either TLS or LSN reported getting admitted.psychomohel wrote:So there were no admits on Friday?
I'm not sure that means much though, because I get the feeling with each round of admits, Yale lets in just a few people. I'm not sure about TLS, but I know LSN represents 10 or 11% of applicants, so it's not unreasonable that people got admitted but just no one who likes to report these things online

I dunno, you don't have to according to Yale's question, but the quote from the NY bar is this:crackberry wrote:Norickysteves wrote:So we don't have to count speeding tickets that were infractions, correct?
And then Yale basically says that you should answer their question as if it was this one, instead. This wording seems to include infractions in the list of things that need to be disclosed. It makes you wonder, though, why they don't just say "have you violated any law at all" rather than saying "have you committed a felony, misdemeanor, or violated any law."Have you ever, either as an adult or juvenile, been cited, arrested, taken into custody, charged with, indicted, convicted or or tried for, or pleaded guilty to, the commission of any felony or misdemeanor or the violation of any law, except minor parking violations, or been the subject of juvenile delinquency or youthful offender proceedings?

Re: Yale 2010
For Yale last year, there were about 50 people on LSN who were accepted; considering Yale accepts approximately 250 students per year, doesn't this mean that for the top tier schools, such as Yale, that 20% and not 10% of the population is reprsented on this website?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Yale 2010
No, that sounds right. I was thinking more a ratio of all applicants on lsn to total applicants, which is around 10% for a bunch of the T14 schools (it's around 9% for yale). (for 08-09, yale had about 3650 applicants, and there were about 400 applicants listed on lsn)pleasebehappy wrote:For Yale last year, there were about 50 people on LSN who were accepted; considering Yale accepts approximately 250 students per year, doesn't this mean that for the top tier schools, such as Yale, that 20% and not 10% of the population is reprsented on this website?

But you're right, number accepted on LSN/total accepted applicants is probably a much better comparison

It doesn't make any sense to me for the bar to be upset that you didn't mention an infraction in a law school application which only asked about misdemeanors and felonies.

Don't worry; he meant the calendar year 2009.Peter North wrote:When you say "this year", do you mean as in the calender year 2009? Or are you referring to the academic year as in Class of 2013?zsqlywm wrote:in at 4:30pm today!

If it's the former, then yes, that makes sense before the holidays. If you're alluding to the later, than clearly that's crap because YLS application deadline doesn't close till Feb 15th, 2010.

Got a 203 call today; startled to see "New Haven" on the caller ID when everyone knows that YLS is inactive. (False alarm, obviously. )
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
