Anything seriously wrong with that?
It depends on how you say it. In these cases, it seemed dismissive of the earnest sense of accomplishment many felt in being there.
Who knows. Like I said, it still wouldn't stop me from going to Yale....though that possibility is all but extinguished.

Right, which is why I wouldn't let it sway my decision to attend any particular school.

Wow, a grand total of 1 TLS admit in the supposed flurry of the last two days. Not good.

What do you guys think, have they called anyone today yet? Do they call late afternoon/evening or earlier during the day? This is eerie.

Someone just phoned me. It was a wrong number.
I estimate my heart rate is around 170 right now.

You need a heart rate of at least 173 to get into Yale...

Since it's about 4 pm there, they've probably called some people by now. From past history, they tend to make calls late in the afternoon and even after 5 pm sometimes, so it might not be over.

I'm not even sure that my TTT post count qualifies me.
I received the call close to six, and CJ sounded busy, so I suspect that (203) is still working hard.

zabagabe wrote:In fairness to Bio (and Yale non-yuppies), we were also talking about farmers' markets and bringing fresh locally grown produce to urban areas that have little access to it. New Haven's only regular-sized grocery store recently closed (and it mostly opened in the first place due to the initiative of Yalies, among others). This is actually a serious problem for urban poor, because getting fresh produce in little off-licenses is ridiculously overpriced.
...Now if this also allows me to continue my yuppified ways, this is what I would call a seriously positive externality.
One of my hot button issues. People are so critical of the lifestyle choices of the obese. Well the poor are disproportionately obese. There are a number of factors involved. Some is cost of and access to healthy foods. As you mention, many poor urban areas don't have full sized grocery stores in their communities. But fast food can be found in their communities with ease and is actually cheaper than eating in a healthy manner. Also, many working poor work two jobs to try and hold things together and many are raising children as well. So telling them to stop being lazy and to exercise is cruel. It isn't laziness - these people are working their asses off. But time really is an issue for people who are struggling and among the working poor.
OK - rant off.
Asha, if you are reading this please call me today. Or if you are unable to do so today, please keep me in mind for the waitlist. I am willing to have a bag packed for New Haven to the bitter end.

You're right. It was 5:43, but I had enough adrenaline that I misheard the lady robot that reads my voicemail times.
In any event, the after five point holds.

Anyone else wishing they would send WLs/rejects today, too? Hehe. No, I know they must work hard up there, so that would be unreasonable. But, still. At about 5:44, I will simply start hoping for a WL.

I would hope for a tweet later along the line of "203 got sidetracked and did not make all the calls ... "

I'm cautiously optimistic that this is what happened. I would think more than five people would have updated the facebook group.
