Re: Yale 2010
Just got an AdmissionsDean tweet about a new interview with Dean Rangappa @ Yale. I'm only about 1/2 way done (It's really long and detailed) but thought I'd be the first to post a link: http://www.admissionsdean.com/researchi ... a-rangappa . It actually mentions TLS . . . Enjoy!

My girlfriend called me in from studying for a final in the next room; my phone was ringing. I saw it was from a 203 area code, with an unfamiliar number. My aunt got a new cell phone. FML

So when do we get our facebook login and info packet? I got no patience. I want a T-shirt, like Stanford sent.

Re: Yale 2010
At least last year, Yale didn't do random stash with admissions. They sent out a mug in the spring, but the main thing you should expect in the near future is their admissions binder, which is extremely exciting in itself. If that's not enough to whet your palate, then I don't know what will!
The updates on twitter seem kind of thoughtful - better to know the windows when they're calling admits than to be on pins and needles 24/7.

Doesn't this conversation belong on the In at Yale thread? When people got their JR2s, acceptance package talk usually went to In at Harvard.Celibidache wrote:No T-shirt for you. You'll get a bill though. A nice one. It'll say "lux and veritas" and all. And you'll get good feeling inside. A bill from Yale >>> T-shirt from Stanford. Always. Guaranteed.rickysteves wrote:So when do we get our facebook login and info packet? I got no patience. I want a T-shirt, like Stanford sent.

Haha, thanks! Managamy, it's a common Japanese saying. It basically means "indeed," and you hear Japanese people say it in conversation all the time.managamy wrote:I don't get the significance of the name?pocketwatcher wrote:So this is off-topic, but naruhodo, I love your avatar name!

Thank you for explaining it. I watch many Japanese films, including Kurosawa, Ozu, Oshima, and Imamura (as well as yakuza films), but I'd never noticed the phrase. When I see another film, I'll try to pick it out.naruhodo wrote:Haha, thanks! Managamy, it's a common Japanese saying. so I have seen that Yale doesn't penalize late applicants. When does time start to hurt your chances? Am I too late? Still working on my 250 essay
