Exactly, and the Rhodes scholars and people helping children born with HIV/Aids in Africa.

That's the point. These people are the best applicants and the least likely to use stupid discussion boards like this one.

That's hilarious, and probably my death sentence at Yale. Not only am I easy to distinguish, but have little class, post on the USS:BP (including pictures), and clearly have far too much time on my hands.

I believe she phrased it in the manner that, they don't really need to. Only the top applicants (usually) apply to Yale. With that kind of pool, it becomes less difficult to pluck the 250 that provides the outstanding numbers Yale matriculants have.

I certainly buy that they don't have absolute numbers cutoffs. There are just too many people admitted with numbers that would be auto-rejections at Harvard or Stanford or even CCN for them to have anything but very low numbers cutoffs, and if they're going to read every app with a 160 LSAT and a 3.0 GPA and up, they might as well read every app. It may be no more than just long enough to see that there's nothing really interesting (a quick read through the PS and 250, a glance at the activities, etc., which overall wouldn't take very long but would reveal whether the 160 LSAT is worth overlooking for winning an Olympic medal at age 14 and then working to save starving children in Burma), but I'm sure everyone gets read.

Also, awesome. Thanks for answering our questions, Dean Asha! I'm sure you know who I am. I've given away a ton on here because I don't really see what's worth hiding. I hope my speculation about typos (and application dates, that seems like a long time ago!) wasn't offensive

Anyone who didn't know (or at least expect; I don't think all or even most schools read TLS regularly, but some certainly do) we were being observed really shouldn't have been here in the first place.

I honestly wouldn't mind a Yale rejection or waitlist. They are an obvious top 2 choice for me, but I'm sick of not knowing where I'm going to live. Also, if it ends up I'm in the Bay Area, I plan to move to San Francisco in May, so I'd like to start setting that up.
