U of Miami is the first school I was admitted to back in December. I kind of wrote it off because most of me wants to stay on the west coast, but I can't get the idea of going there out of my head.

I'm seriously considering a visit.

applied mid-November, accepted Dec. 1st...so don't give up hope if you've been waiting for a while!!! 163/3.0

Apparently they've been telling people they're out of money so you may be part of the last round. Guess we'll see.

A friend of mine visited and said Coral Gables is about as close to Paradise as he thinks he will ever see. If Miami wasn't asking 30,000 sticker I'd probably have already decided to go. As it stands I am still considering it but waiting to hear from other schools that cost less. If the school threw me a few scraps I'd likely sign up for admission the next day.

Im also between Miami and San Diego. You hear about $$ from USD?

Also, Despite all the negatives on TLS, my searching through nlj 250 firms and speaking to some Miami residents says that Miami places very well, and has a strong rep.

Yeah. I would imagine that it does place well and have a strong rep. I guess I can't buy into all of the pessimism regarding the school on this site.

As for USD, I just got accepted a few days ago. I am expecting some scholarship money though. Looks like we might be future classmates haha.

I'd call them. I had a friend who was had that same message only to find out they were accepted when they called.

the screen itself changes and has a big "Congratulations" at the top followed by a letter from the dean.

+2 FWIW myUM didn't change until a week after I was actually admitted (I found out via phone call)
