Re: In at UMiami
Hello everyone!! If anyone is looking for an apartment near UM, I have a 2/2 apartment in Red Road Commons which is next to the school. I will be moving to another Law school so if anyone wants to take over the lease PM me. I pay $1620 for my apartment that is currently being leased by the management office for $2050, so its a great deal for anyone looking to live near the law school. Also, I will be leaving all of my furniture including pots and pans, decorations, etc. The apartment building is just 2 years old and has great security. One parking space included with the rent. If anyone is interested please let me know. thankss

Darn wish I were hispanic. Funny too...you'd think Miami law would want more white people considering the city of Miami itself is about 75% hispanic.
From what i've seen, less than 10% of the law students are hispanics (including LLMs...) sorry

Yeah - Has anyone gotten rejected off the waitlist???
Someone posted earlier that they were told there was nobody being taken off the waitlist - so why don't they just reject us......???
Is there still hope? Are they just waiting to see if people don't show up to the first day of classes?
Help? Anyone?

I am sitting here wondering the same exact thing. My status has not changed and I also have not heard anything. I mean they're going to have to tell us no eventually right?c4n3s wrote:Yeah - Has anyone gotten rejected off the waitlist???

I called Admissions yesterday and they told me that there would be an email going out to everyone on the wait list before the end of the week (today). I still haven't gotten an email, though. Also it seems my status has changed on myUM. It just says View Documents Needed now.
Doesn't sound good.

Yes same thing for me! It changed back to what it was before it said "view admissions decision" or whatever and then told us that we were on an alternate list blah blah. So to me it seems that either we have all been booted from the wait list or that everyone has and there will be some good and bad news. Unfortunately I am leaning towards my first guess though.

It may be a blessing in disguise that you dont get into UM law. Perhaps you could spend the year studying to gain admission into a more competitive law school.

Same as well. I actually called Friday morning to ask why it happened and the lady told me they updated the status and we will probably find out Monday morning. Before we hung up she also stated that they probably will not be going into the waitlist anymore. In other words, we're dunzo.x3jessica3x wrote:yeah same here. very strange and it doesn't look good..JaLeCa wrote:I checked my account, and they took the view admissions decisions letter off altogether. that was a fun 9 months of being on-hold and waitlisted...
i could have had a baby in that amount of time. if i was female.
its going to be hard to still pull for miami this football season.
good luck to everyone!

Re: In at UMiami
I wanted to give the waitlisters an update. During orientation yesterday, the president of UM made a sort of joking comment that slightly more students showed up then expected. Based on that, I don't think they will be taking anyone off the waitlist. Hope that helps if you were still waiting, sorry for the bad news but I would want to know. Good luck.
