I got the email about scholars day and stipend today. It seems odd that they would offer that and not send the application for merit aid.Sean Bateman wrote:i too have not received anything about scholarships/financial aide and i was admitted about 3 weeks ago + invited to scholars day with a travel stipend. what gives?

I was offered a travel stipend but unfortunately coming from NJ it wasn't enough for me to be able to make it.

i wish it wasn't so expensive to get to tallahassee (for out of state applicants). i really want to go to scholar's day, but it would cost way too much for me right now.

i live close enough that the stipend they offered was able to cover a little less than 50% of the trip. booking a greyhound and hotel this week. if anybody is interested I'll be happy to answer any questions or maybe even post a field report when i get back.

Accepted by phone! My first acceptance, and it's a big relief.

Did your status checker change before the call? If so, what did your status checker say, etc.? Thanks and Congrats!

Re: Florida State 2010
Yesterday, it said "Under Review" as of 2/9. I checked right after the phone call and it had been changed to:
Current Status: Decision made and will arrive by mail.
Current Status Date: 2/12/2010
Not sure if they had changed it prior to the phone call. I hadn't started the ritualistic "Status Checker Rundown" for the day.
Good luck to you!

Re: Florida State 2010
I got a scholarship offer today. $24,000 over 3 years. $6000/ semester L1, $3000/semester L2 and L3. It says there are additional scholarships I can apply for at the end of first year.
I wish the scholars day was at a different time. The 26th is the first day of Stetson's scholars retreat, and I really want to go to that. Looks like I will be scheduling a solo campus visit instead.

I haven't checked in a while but my app went DR 2/4/2010. I have not received anything in the mail yet, though.

My UG gives A+ grades, but doesn't give extra weight to them. So while my UGPA is 3.96, LSAC calculates it as 4.08. It's a fortunate situation for me.j32f wrote:How do you have a 4.08?

Got scholarship info via email
12,000 for 1L, then I can apply for additional scholarships. Was kind of hoping for more from you FSU, oh well.

Has anyone else applied a while back and still have "application Complete" as their status? I applied at the end of December and I have not gone under review, my numbers are well above median. Whats going on?

Same here, 12/16 complete, I think they start with the auto admits and auto rejects and then work their way towards the middle, I still have a month until the 3 month mark so i am trying to be patient, even though I am quite certain this is my top school choice

you should seriously consider retaking the LSAT and putting off school for a year with a GPA like thatdomeafavor wrote:160/4.08, in-state.

Trust me, I've considered it. I figure I'll see how this cycle goes, and if I don't get any offers that I'm excited about, I'll prep like I've never prepped before and retake.whuts4lunch wrote:you should seriously consider retaking the LSAT and putting off school for a year with a GPA like thatdomeafavor wrote:160/4.08, in-state.

Re: Florida State 2010
how many weeks was it till people received financial information from FSU after being accepted? I was accepted January 21 and still have not received an e-mail. Also, has anyone filled out FASFA yet? It is a tedious process?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
