Just saw the dates and deadlines page and it says the ED applicants have to hear back by Jan 4, not Dec 31. Looks like they edited it pretty recently. But it probably won't matter. In years past they got a lot of EDs out well before deadline.

I guess this way those of us getting ED rejections can still have a happy and blissfully ignorant Christmas and New Year's.

Haha +1. Iowa was always overrated though. The Big-10 just sucks in general. To to bottom. Even OSU and PSU are pretenders. It's actually sad what that conference has become.

My interview was a week ago, but my checker still says this:
All materials are in, and your file is being held until your interview date. Your file will be completed once you have had your interview.
Anyone else have this problem?

My guess is they are still waiting for whatever submission is required of the interviewer to complete your file. I'd give it another week before worrying.

application submitted a few weeks ago - check
off campus interview with alum - check
status checker still has the "pending interview.... application complete" message

and the clock starts ticking Dec. 1 (8 weeks and counting).

It's all on my spreadsheet NU. I will wait!

Mine took around 3 weeks from the interview date to go complete. I think that's the usual time they take to put the interview evaluation together with your application materials.

My interview is coming up in a few days. I've been completed for a while pending review.

I have a very low GPA, and my LSAT that is still below then median but above their 25%. I'm hoping my 3-4 years of work experience boosts me up, so i guess its all about the interview. hopefully it'll go well.

Seems like in the T14, northwestern gives the heaviest weight to work experience which is great. Wish it was more like MBA's though where they all care about it.

Complete at Northwestern today. They say to wait 8 weeks from December 1 to hear back.

Just got the same message. I started to get excited when I read about getting a decision within 8 weeks, and then I saw the part about Dec. 1.

Let the waiting begin!

Did anyone get an application received e-mail after submitting?

I submitted on Wed., and haven't heard a thing. I'm ED and they ask that the application be in by Nov. 15, which is why I'm concerned.

Yes, it took 2-3 days for them to send me an e-mail saying they received my application. I'd think you're probably fine, but you can always call to be sure.

Any advice from those who completed the off campus interviews by alumns?

Check LSAC completed apps and see if your report was sent. I wouldn't worry too much yet. Just make sure you sign and send the certification form so it arrives before Dec 1.

Yeah I did, and it said it was sent. I know I'm tweaking for no reason, but I still can't help myself. If I don't hear anything on Monday, I'll call.

Thanks for the help all.

Alright, seems they received my interviewers remarks as I am now marked as complete with no mention of waiting for the interview.

My interview was pushed back from yesterday to next week. Going to be a while before I go complete at NU, I think.

At least your interviewer returns your calls. Mine hasn't responded for a week, too soon to contact NU admissions?

I emailed mine almost a month ago. No response. Sent a follow-up email on Friday. No response. If I don't hear by Monday, I will probably call her. If she doesn't pick up or respond to my voicemail promptly, I will contact NU admissions (pre-Thanksgiving) to get a new interviewer.

I'm not sure if any one anecdote is helpful, but I had an incredibly civil, blissfully short exchange with my alum interviewer. We talked in his office and broke the ice discussing some of the older items on my resume, as I've been out of school for several years. He had clearly reviewed the resume and seemed genuinely interested in what I've done since college and grad school, asking why I would want to change careers now, and why I'd want to go to NU, since it's not in the town where I live. I turned around a few questions on him, asking what he does at his BigLaw firm, what he worked on outside of class at NU, what it's like for (significantly) older (married) students there. By now it's a cliche in posts about this topic, but overall the talk was strikingly conversation-like and a distant cousin to any of the job interview interrogations I've had in the past.
