anyways, dean tom called me about 10 min ago, he said hell start callin ppl later today and that Oli shall never receive a call because he is a canucks fan (if you were a wings fan im sure ud get in) ... tough luck

Actually, I'm pretty sure being a wings fan makes you an auto-reject everywhere but UMich...so...don't rag on my nucks I'll pull out the guillotine sooooo fast!!!

Also I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a call no matter which hockey team I endorse...lets all figure out D. Tom's sports preferences and see if we can't play on some sympathies

Edit: "He" eh?

Berkeley is taking awhile for acceptances? What is this nonsense? I guess it might be good for me because I went UR only a couple of weeks ago.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone in this year's cycle! We are all in the crunch of finals right now, but I'm sure Berkeley 1Ls would be more than happy to answer your questions once we survive this mess.

Try to have a good holiday and enjoy yourselves....once your application is in, there's not much you can do....except stalk the adcoms with addenda and letters of continued interest, that is.

Good luck :D

Yeah that was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. And I liked how he still smashed his stick into the goal post after mutilating his goalie.

Look at the person's race on their LSN profile. Definitely fake. Weak attempt at a flame

I think it's safe to say there will be no wave of acceptances today. I guess the silver lining in this cloud of uncertainty is that when it happens, it will be awesome.

+1 on both thoughts. Those who finally do get a call from Dean Tom will feel especially blessed after the long weeks of suspense.

Maybe he is auto-admitting fewer people than usual this year and sending a higher proportion of files to the general Committee.

That's one possibility. I think they're working on a new strategic plan based on what they think yield outcomes will be due to the change in tuition/fees. If I were in their position, I'd be working regression analysis on my data, trying to figure out how all of this is going to affect applicant's choice: not just who to admit and when, but how many offers to make. Waiting to see more of the applicant pool would give me more data points. It would also answer some questions. For example, do applications slow down post-tuition rate announcement? If numbers hold steady, then proceed as usual. If numbers decline, a different course of action would be necessary to counteract that negative externality.

Hey, Berkeley - I offer to do the analysis for you as my grad thesis in exchange for admission. Seriously.
