Re: Berkeley 2010
I think we should stop calling a Berkeley rejection a "ding" and start calling it a "Yoo," as in John Yoo. Yano, to make us rejects feel better about not going to this school

Re: Berkeley 2010
Looking at lawschoolnumbers.com, it seems like everyone who received a decision today was rejected...I wonder if that means that everyone who isn't already in FR is a [strike]ding[/strike] yoo at this point...

I believe you meant, "yoo yoo yoo"
I had been UR 11/30 until I got Yoo'ed today, so I feel your pain.

Is anyone planning on deferring their acceptance? I'm thinking of doing TFA first (already been accepted)

I'm not sure what TFA would do for you if you already have great acceptances.... Unless (gasp) you actually want to do some good and contribute. But, then, you could do that after law school and use Boalt's incredible LRAP while getting law-related experience.
Why do you want to do TFA? Trying to break into the T3?

Yoo'd earlier today (applied Jan). Wasn't expecting an offer, but I had to try.
Good luck to everyone else still waiting!

Re: Berkeley 2010
just found out about Goodwin Liu's nomination for 9th circuit. can't say if this makes me more or less enthused for berkeley. i was looking really forward to (and even wrote a good paragraph of my PS talking about) working with Liu. but i guess on the other hand it's a good thing that berkeley faculty are being nominated as judges. anyone else have any thought on this?

Ding/Yoo/Tears/Whatever 168 / 3.85. Applied on 1/27 so it's not a shock, but still stings ; first of the cycle. Sigh.

With the GOP obstruction in the Senate, he could very well be teaching for another year or more before he is confirmed.

You haven't withdrawn your application from Berkeley?

Nope. I have to at least give my alma mater a chance to wow me at the ASW. Boalt was one of my top choices entering the cycle.

Re: Berkeley 2010
Dinged today after being FR. Berkeley was probably my top choice and it's my first outright rejection so this one kind of hurts.
