In by email! Came in at about 3 but I've been traveling all day. 12/7 UR.

That's it, I have to be Committee Review/Rejected. There have been too many 12/07 URers for my 11/02 UR to be still in contention for Dean Tom acceptance.

I think the majority of people get sent to committee review. Especially if you're like Managamy and your numbers aren't a sure thing.

There seems to be enormous uncertainty regarding the odds of being sent to committee review. Perhaps Boalt will eventually clarify on Twitter.

Indeed. I was under the impression that the majority of admittances come from administrative review, but that doesn't mean that most applications don't get sent to committee review.

From the TLS interview:
Concurrent to this review process we also identify about 1400 to 1600 other applications that are very competitive, and these we send to our faculty admissions committee, comprised of six faculty and twelve students. Students serve in an advising capacity on the committee. I admit roughly 550 people through what I call the administrative review process, and the admissions committee (the faculty committee) admits about another 200 or so. So, we end up admitting about 700 to 750 people. The admissions committee also structures a waiting list, and then everyone else is denied, either administratively or by the Committee.

200 out of 1500...that's pretty bad.

It's not terrible--about a 13% probablility, which is better than the chances of getting an HYS acceptance

Yeah, but those 1500 are the cream of Berkeley's crop aside from the acceptances. Just think how many people apply to YHS who don't have much of a chance at all.

You think? I doubt that HYS sees many awful LSATs and GPAs; people wouldn't waste the application fee (or the time) to apply if they were obviously unqualified.

There's just not enough 170+ to fill the number of applications they get. Then, consider how many of those with the 170+ don't have a 3.75+ GPA, and the number goes down even further.

Lol, +many. 10/22. What are the chances they'll send out more emails tomorrow?

Edit - on second thought, don't answer that.

Not awful but I have seen many people on this board who don't reallistically have a shot at H/S but have applied nonetheless.

Berkeley only admits 850 students, not 1600. Therefore, 200 is actually like 23%. Not bad at all.
