Wow, the 10/22 group's acceptances illustrate that they're going in no special order at all. And it's intriguing that they've returned to the phone-call system. I have a lot of hope for people in the early-November UR pool now.

Yes, it is the same girl! But no, she's not my gf. She's Ana Ivanovic, the 6-foot Serbian tennis star who won the French Open last year. (Although here you see her playing golf in Miami.)

Tall, beautiful, gentle, kind, and intelligent, she's all that a guy could want, no? And she's been my good-luck charm for this entire cycle. It's been a while since I received great news, though, so I thought that a new picture might revitalize my fortunes.

It did, immediately. Although not here. Now I know what to do when things are idle for a while! But clearly I still haven't found quite the right pose to warm Boalt's heart.

I doubt it helps much, if at all. I just expected that since I have the numbers (and imo, the softs), the alum thing would only reinforce that I know what Berkeley is all about, and would want to go back.

The most fun that I've had as a Stanford student has been at Berkeley: exhibits, film, dinners, etc. It's truly a wonderful place for a young person to live.

EDIT: Finally, I can openly make that remark after the SLS email today.
