Under review today per email. Basically no chance because of my GPA, but I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. Haha

Do you guys think they'll wait til the FR committee convenes on Jan. 29th to send out the second batch of FR emails? or rejections?

I got straight dinged at UCLA a few weeks back (was hoping for at least a waitlist) but I'm in the FR pile for Cal...
I'm trying to make sense of it, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm destined for rejection and only being kept around for another cursory glance. I just went DR on 1/21 for GULC, so I guess that will give me a bit more to go on.
same here. not sure how I made the FR pile given my sub 25th LSAT, GPA above median however

+1, esp. since I'm in the other direction and Berkeley LOVES high GPAs. Really no idea why I'm still in the running (with a 3.4!) in FR.manu4ever882001 wrote:Mroberts3 wrote:Anyone have any guess as to what's up with my Berkeley application?

Hey all- quite sorry if this has already been discussed, but does anyone know where we're supposed to send updated info? I'm FR and want to send a letter with a few updates... admissions@ email address? physical address?

Yeah, I was thinking of just posting it on suckinguptoberkeley.com and hoping they'd find it, but now I think I should try a direct route.
Anyone send a followup? Snail mail? LSDAS? Email?

FWIW I sent an updated resume to admissions@law.berkeley.edu and they added it to my file.radgrad wrote:ccs224 wrote:Send it to Google. Re: Berkeley 2010
Hey Guys,
I've been UR since 12/15
I have a 3.86 UGPA and (unfortunately) a 163 LSAT score. I haven't received an email informing me that I would be FR.
What do you think my chances of admission are? I had a very strong PS, very good recs, and have had extensive extracurricular and work experience in policy and lawmaking (I work as a legislative aide for a State Senator). I'm not very hopeful :-/
Thanks for your input!

Faculty Review, and neutral. At this point in the game, about equal percentages of FR and AR (administrative review) candidates were accepted the past few years. FR-track applications are read by faculty members, while AR-track applications are read only by admissions staff.mdgold wrote:what is FR? and is it good to get it?
That's a very sketchy description, but it's basically true. Also, the reasons behind an application being FR rather AR are totally unknown. All applications are AR until January, when FR starts. My guess is that the difference is intended to be negligible, and bringing in the faculty is just a way to speed up the process once they start getting really inundated after the December LSAT.

I submitted 11/10, went under review 11/18. I'm a reverse splitter--high GPA, low LSAT. The online status didn't change, but at the top of the page it says, "Your application at UC Berkeley Law School has passed an initial administrative review and has been selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee." Good luck to you!
