University numbers start with 642 or 643. Good luck!
My Berkeley call was 510.
510 = area code
642 or 643 = the 3 numbers after the area code and before the last 4 numbers, ie. (510) 642/3 - xxxx

What he meant was that the numbers all start with (510) 642/643-XXXX

i feel inclined to tell ya'll that i submitted a wimpy 2 1/2 page PS. it was my generic PS but sized in pt 12 font instead of pt 11. i had this berkeley-specific concluding paragraph all typed out, but deleted it last minute because i wasn't feeling it.

good luck to all!

Since submitting my app, though, I moved to SF from the East Coast. I told Dean Tom that a BART ticket would suffice. :D
Haha +1, I was a little bummed to not get the "we'll fly you out here" offer, but given that I live in SF, that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. What does it cost to get to Berkeley from SF on BART? Like $3.10 or whatever? I think I can handle that.

I've been watching this thread obsessively since calls have started going out.... I'm a west coast-er, so Boalt and SLS are both VERY attractive to me (in some ways more attractive than Harvard, I've spent enough winters in sub-freezing temperatures). My hopes for a call are dwindling, though. My only hope is that, for some reason, Dean Tom is doing calls in alphabetical order... I'm at the end haha.

And I'm sure someone with a W last name got admitted is poised to crush my dream.

Same here except mine was pt 12 to begin with and only 2 pages. I think short of major re-write, it's better to submit a solid 2 pages rather than adding paragraphs that hurt the flow of the PS. We'll see how mine works though :P

honestly, that still gives me hope! and by the way congrats to everyone who's gotten the call so far... a sentiment I failed to express in my initial post.

Someone missed a call and got a call back. I think we are done here folks....to me that sounds like they are going through the list again...which means they finished it. I hope im wrong.

The Twitter page did mention that Dean Tom can't call everybody he'd like to today. Perhaps they'll pick it back up tomorrow if they stop at some point today.

I would disagree with this. When I called him back, he said thanks, because he doesn't have the time to follow up on missed calls. Sounds like it's still plenty busy at the admissions office.

You would disagree that it happened? It sounds like what you said adds to my theory. If they were to busy to follow up on missed calls and they followed up on a missed calll, well then they must not be to busy anymore.

Boalt tweeted this on 10/21:

"(As of 9:00am this morning) We have about 800 applications for Fall 2010, already showing an increase over last year at this time."
