Sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing the info! I'll be on the look out for mine.
It gives me a nice chip to put on my shoulder.

+1
Really kind of stings.
FunkyJD wrote:Hey guys, here's some information that I gathered today from the SMU admissions office (and for the record, they were very helpful and polite):
(a) Apparently SMU has not admitted any daytime Regular Decision students just yet. Hope to have decisions by the end of April, but hopefully sooner. They are experiencing a high application volume, no surprise. I was complete beginning of February and am currently under review, so there is movement.
(b) If you are up for the Sarah Hughes scholarship, communications regarding that will come from the Dallas Bar Association, not SMU.
So there's nothing to do at this point but sit back, open a Shiner, and try to relax for now. Hopefully we will hear back soon.

I don't know how SMU expects to dick around thousands of applicants who don't have a 165 until the end of April and make us waste money on seat deposits for schools that are our second choice.

This is what I was told as well but it is a blatant lie. I have had two friends who went complete during the last week of January. The first had a 169, 3.3 and was given $25k a year and the second had a 165, 2.6 and was given $16k a year.
Out of everyone who has applied to SMU that I know, I haven't come across anyone who has been accepted RD without at least a 165. On LSAC's SMU report the chart reads that every applicant for last year's cycle with a 165 or higher, regardless of GPA, was admitted. I believe that everyone who has been accepted RD was given a scholarship as well.

care to share your numbers and when you went complete?

Did you apply in December? If you were close to the ED deadline, maybe they considered you ED. Or if you were complete by their "must be complete by" deadline.
