From reading the accepted profiles with lower numbers from LSN, I kind of get the feeling they weigh heavily on the "Why SMU/Dallas" part of the application.

Thats the only reason I think that I am still alive.

I am from Dallas, went to a prestigious high school there, my family is still there, and I plan to practice there.

Additionally, I am a tripple legacy. My father's uncle taught accounting there and was the chair of the accounting dept in the 80s. - Don't know how much that helps, but we will see

Wow, I'm really sorry lsathelp. I had a 160 with a sub 3.0 GPA and was accepted PT. My letter included a note about my impressive internships, but I would think your numbers are just as good as mine (if not better due to my poor GPA). I don't remember focusing that much on the why SMU/Dallas portion of my application (I'm from the DC area and have never been to Dallas), so maybe they over-accepted early and a majority of people sent in their deposits. Good luck to you.

This is kind of what I'm thinking. Or maybe more people are putting down a deposit at SMU while they are waiting to hear back from other schools.

My thoughts too. Last year there was more movement after the second deadline than the first (at least self-reported on TLS).

If you look at the historical SMU graphs, they seem to prefer LSAT over GPA. If you look at LSN, you can see how a 156 could be rejected even with a solid GPA. The only 150's LSAT acceptances are with people with 3.8's and 3.9's or who are VERY tied to Dallas.

For all who went DR or complete on 4/7...
Please be out on the lookout for the mail man...
I know that is not the desired result, but at least it would give those of us waiting indication if there are any accepts in this batch...

Still sitting on complete 4/7... With message...

I agree. If the 4/7 updated statuses were admits, they should have gotten calls by yesterday evening at the latest. I don't wish rejection upon anyone, but I do think this is the most likely outcome. If so, I'm certainly pleased, as my status has not yet changed. Best of luck to all; our wait time is shrinking by the day.

My status changed to DR 4/7, and I have about the same stats as lsathelp. However, I am a FT applicant. I didn't receive a call so I'm expecting a rejection. I'm a bit shocked like lsathelp bc I thought I would atleast be waitlisted. I'll keep you guys updated. I'm anxiously waiting for the mail right now. 2 more hours until the mailman comes.

I was hoping there was some admits... But since they didn't go out Friday, that lowered my expectations... David B has 164/2.9 complete and PT only... That gave me some hope... I guess the theory of them being full is true...

No mail today from SMU... sigh. I don't know if that's a good thing or just delaying the bad.

Jesuit. I doubt that is taken into account.

I heard they have a surveillance team hired to follow potential applicants.

Used to play each other. I used to take pictures of the games.

It's been a while since I graduated though.

Haven't heard anything so far. Yes, I believe that is the case.

So...it's sounding more and more like their decisions at this point are rejections. Mine is still at complete. Should I call them about it? Should I send an LOCI? I know my stats aren't great, but I was hoping my softs would help a little.

Yes, what is the general rule of thumb regarding LOCI?

Anyone have an idea of when we are soppossed to hear back??

maybe you could call and find out how many more people they intend to accept?

SMU only promises that a decision will be made by April 30 for those who met the RD deadline. I'm still sitting at "complete."

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
