Haha still here...just a really busy school day. I have come to the conclusion that I have been rejected. No phone call yesterday, just waiting for the doomed small envelope in the mail. I'm a little depressed, as I really wanted to move back home to Dallas and be with my family, but I have a lot of decisions to make. I most likely will end up at Baylor in the spring, even though my heart will remain with SMUjgrin wrote:And where did DA87 go?

Re: SMU 2010!
SO, just got off the phone with the admissions office. They couldn't have been more vague as to what would happen with my file.
They did tell me that there would be more acceptances, denials, and WLs to come out this week though. With regards to those that went DR on 4/29, she said that we would either be getting acceptances, denials, or WLs

SOOO lame. You have pretty solid numbers too.Ty Webb wrote:Waitlisted.
Who is going to get accepted? This makes me wonder if they are really not considering numbers to be the most important aspect of an application at this point in the process...

LOCI time, except that apparently they don't "accept" those?

Re: SMU 2010!
ya... about that.... I had a friend call about that today, and they definitely reaffirmed that you should not send updated materials, LOCIs, or take the June LSAT, because that will not help you get off the waitlist. I feel like this is an awful, law-school version of Survivor.Ty Webb wrote:Blah.jgrin wrote:SOOO lame. You have pretty solid numbers too.Ty Webb wrote:Waitlisted.

What time of the day do they typically make acceptance phone calls?

If you get accepted, they usually if not always, call to congratulate you.pag wrote:How do you know that you got accepted to SMU? And what is this phone call that evryone is talking about?

the call doesn't last very long but it is just about the best thirty seconds you can have with your clothes onpag wrote:How do you know that you got accepted to SMU? And what is this phone call that evryone is talking about?

this might be a weird question, but do you guys know how religion-tolerant are they at SMU, for people that are not Methodist?

Re: SMU 2010!
It isn't any more or less religiously tolerant than most other law schools from everything I've read/heard. It seems to be your typical amalgamation of religious, semi-religious, quasi-religious, anti-religious, and apathetic people.pag wrote:this might be a weird question, but do you guys know how religion-tolerant are they at SMU, for people that are not Methodist?

All I can vouch for is that it never came up during the admissions process. For all they know, I could worship Zifzud, Monkey God of Crankberries. They don't seem to carepag wrote:this might be a weird question, but do you guys know how religion-tolerant are they at SMU, for people that are not Methodist?

Seems like I read that the school isn't even technically affiliated with the Methodist church - at least not any more. It just still has the name.fathergoose wrote:It isn't any more or less religiously tolerant than most other law schools from everything I've read/heard. Off topic, but did any of you see G-Dub speaking at the school last week? He said it was good to be back living in the promised land - I assume referring to Dallas. I think it will be cool to have his presidential center on campus. It will get some attention for the school.

+1, although I don't think acceptance calls happened until late afternoon for yesterday's acceptance batch...wh3931110 wrote:Still no phone call : (

still no calls...
This is bad. Does anyone think that we are potential WLs and that they don't put up some of the WLs on the status checker?

Re-take LSAT and try next cycle, or go to South Texas?

Hey I've been waitlisted too - anyone want to offer up their stats from the WL? I'm trying to figure out where they have drawn the line. I'm at SMU undergrad with 3.7 and 163 and was WL'd on Tuesday.Ty Webb wrote:Waitlisted.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
