I think there was an issue about my citizenship maybe. Not real sure. They say jump, I just ask how high.

Maybe they're already testing our abilities by sending us countless cryptic e-mails from the financial aid office?

I got this as well. I went on access and realized I had signed my MPN for the Direct Plus loan but not for the stafford loans. When you click on Student Center just look on the right side for the to-do list and see if that's what you need to do. I wish they would confirm my grad plus loan already, it's only two weeks from disbursement time.

Does anyone know if we have to send in a separate form requesting a grad plus loan? I'm thinking if this is the case, that is why smu hasn't confirmed the big money yet. Kalvano, did you fill out a form on top of doing everything through studentloans.gov?
That's what it was. I thought the studentloans.gov site indicated that I was doing both MPNs simultaneously. Oh well.

I find it quite impossible that you live in Fort Worth, are pondering attending law school, are on TLS, and yet don't know that SMU is in Dallas.

Since, you know, it's the only law school around for a 100 miles, aside from Wesleyan.

Hey everyone, I'm new to TLS but wanted to introduce myself. I'll be at SMU this fall in their PT program. I'm planning on living in the on-campus apartments. Anyone hear anything about Hawk Hall?

It's confirmed he uses Reno 911 clips as examples for class.
Reno 911, Simpson's, and others... Was a great class.

That sounds awesome.

for betasteve/nontrad/any current smu student:

Does the write-on for law review start the same day finals end in the spring? How long does the process take? And it is mandatory for making law review, no? I have potential wedding conflicts after the first year ends, and i need to try and give as much notice as possible of any conflicts i might have.

No, it started the following Thursday this year.
UTL_plz wrote: How long does the process take?
We had from Thursday AM to Monday AM

Correct, it is mandatory. To grade on you must still put forth a "good faith effort." To write on, you have to bust your ass. And since you don't have spring grades and only the top 10% of the class grades on to the top LR, you'll want to devote as much time as possible.

You can see more on this year's competition: http://www.smu.edu/lra

http://smu.edu/lra/About/CurrentCompetition.asp

1. Write on competition started shortly after the end of finals, 5/13 and ended 5/17 this year.

2. Yes, the write on is mandatory. If you are T10% then you must achieve a passing score on the write on competition for LR. If you are T25% you need to achieve a passing score for one of the two secondary journals. Otherwise you can write on to LR or one of the secondary journals if you don't meet the criteria for grading on. You'll know where you stand grade wise by the last week of January. However, you won't know your second semester grades until after the write on competition.

Hey guys!

So awhile back SMU was my first choice and as some of you may know i was deeply depressed when i got rejected. Well after a couple months i was curious today and went on their website and checked my status (i just had this strange feeling to check it) and to my surprise i saw the words "Waitlisted". So i called to make sure and the girl was just as confused as me, she said they were supposed to send a new letter out to me. I have already committed to Case Western and i did not send any LOCI and Im guessing its way too late now.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
