In fact, she told me I should aim for American but had a decent shot at Yale in the same sentence.

Sure, but as far as giving a student who knows nothing of law school admissions an idea of where to apply--it's more than a little misleading. I would hazard a guess that <1% of Yale admits get nothing else in the t10.

I've been checking in on this thread occasionally and it seems like S hasn't accepted anyone in the past week and a half (at least on TLS). Anyone want to guess when/if the next wave will happen?

yeah 3 got in last week, 2 URMs and I'm not sure about the other one.

I'm spending 5 days in SF around Berkeley's ASW, and I was thinking of making a visit to Stanford. It's probably too late at that point, but any chance it could give me a small boost since I'd be showing more interest?

The Harvard thread made me feel bad about my 750 word LOCI to Stanford. :( But I really think everything in the LOCI was worth saying. Some of it was about what I've been doing, and some of it was some pretty Stanford-specific, and what I think is compelling, stuff. Hard to explain why here though. Oh well. There was just nothing in my regular application that showed Stanford that I was applying to them not just because they're a top school, but because I love Stanford.
