FWIW, our pre-law advisor is pretty terrible.CardinalRules wrote:My pre-law advisor didn't have the time to help me, and I still did fine, so I don't think that they're necessarily essential.BioEBear2010 wrote:I wouldn't worry too much. In fact, she told me I should aim for American but had a decent shot at Yale in the same sentence.crackberry wrote:No doubt.ConMan345 wrote:FWIW, our pre-law advisor is pretty terrible.CardinalRules wrote:My pre-law advisor didn't have the time to help me, and I still did fine, so I don't think that they're necessarily essential.BioEBear2010 wrote: I wouldn't worry too much. I can actually understand how someone could get Yale but nothing else in the top 10. Obviously, the odds arer minuscule, but it could happen.adameus wrote:ConMan345 wrote:

Sure, but as far as giving a student who knows nothing of law school admissions an idea of where to apply--it's more than a little misleading. I would hazard a guess that <1% of Yale admits get nothing else in the t10.CardinalRules wrote:I can actually understand how someone could get Yale but nothing else in the top 10. I've been checking in on this thread occasionally and it seems like S hasn't accepted anyone in the past week and a half (at least on TLS). Anyone want to guess when/if the next wave will happen?

My bad. But you have to admit, that does qualify as "or something."

I'm spending 5 days in SF around Berkeley's ASW, and I was thinking of making a visit to Stanford. It's probably too late at that point, but any chance it could give me a small boost since I'd be showing more interest?

Re: Stanford 2010!!!
The Harvard thread made me feel bad about my 750 word LOCI to Stanford. But I really think everything in the LOCI was worth saying. Some of it was about what I've been doing, and some of it was some pretty Stanford-specific, and what I think is compelling, stuff. Hard to explain why here though. Oh well. There was just nothing in my regular application that showed Stanford that I was applying to them not just because they're a top school, but because I love Stanford.
