I have heard NYU is really bad about this, though. But that's okay, because it is an awesome school and I would be thrilled to go there... <3

Should I be worried if I applied 10/3 and haven't heard anything yet?

In the event that you both start worrying, notify me so my worry can equal the level of your worry. I'm worried that if I don't worry enough about being worried, my worrying won't be anything but pure, useless, worrying.

I'm sorry!! I would really like NYC though, so I have my fingers crossed for some merit aid from CLS or NYU (like both a lot)... Plus my GPA is TTT for Yale!

You know how Yale's 75th is 3.97 or some shit? I've always wondered if top quarter of Yale's admitted class went to schools that mess around with this A+ nonsense, or if they come from respectable, 4.0-ceilinged institutions and are just that good.

Wow! I didn't realize Ronald Dworkin taught at NYU. Their faculty really is stellar.

I saw that a couple weeks ago. Dworkin is a god in the legal philosophy world. Being able to take a class from him blows my mind.

I actually mentioned him in my PS to NYU.

He's also a god on the LSAT apparently. I could swear I saw his name on no fewer than 7 or 8 PTs.

Hmmm....I don't remember that.

I'm taking a Legal Philosophy UG course now and we do a lot of reading and talking about his views.

I know Nussbaum and Posner at Chicago are nothing to sneer at, but I've have a pretty strong social/political philosophy background and being able to be taught by Dworkin would be amazing.

NYU has had a major push for faculty recently. They really put a lot into their law school, as their undergrad and other professional schools aren't as elite.

Anyhow, Dworkin should probably just take a job at whatever LS I attend.

Anybody submit as early as 9/21 and not hear anything from NYU yet? Trying to figure out if this is normal or not...

No one has heard anything, but I know that they've started reviewing apps. I talked to someone from their Admissions Office at a law fair at my school.

on the subject of NYU's big name faculty, I came across this article recently. Old news (2006), but nonetheless interesting insight into CLS/NYU politics.

It seems like a bunch of people got an e-mail on Tuesday. But I'm glad to hear that there are some who didn't as well.

Oh, you're right. I turned in my app that early but didn't go complete until recently. Probably won't hear for a while.

How did you find out you were complete?

You ever read the back and forth between him and Scalia? Awesome thing to read.

Haha, yes, definitely.

Downside is I think he only co-teaches that one amazing colloquium with Nagel. https://its.law.nyu.edu/courses/index.c ... orId=19891

That colloquium by itself sounds beyond amazing though. You get to listen to absolute giants give a presenation once a week.

I submitted on 9/22 and never got any response. Emailed the Admissions Office yesterday and they responded within a few hours to tell me that my app was complete and under review.
