Why? Do you have a deadline coming up that requires you to withdraw from all colleges you are still waiting on?

If I were you I would hang in there. I couldn't handle waiting so long all for nothing.

I want to quit before they can fire me. And I have a deadline next week that is going to require me to withdraw all my apps, yeah.

I get it - kind of like - who wanted to go to your stupid school anyway? Where you do have the deadline?

The deadline is a special situation that wouldn't apply to most people. Will be going to Mich if/when I withdraw from NYU.

And yeah, something to the effect of: "I was informed by a member of your staff that I should be receiving my initial decision from you shortly, a mere 29+ weeks after applying. I do not know what this decision might be, and frankly, it doesn't matter at this point; I really have no desire to attend your school. If it takes the school administration more than half a year to inform me of a decision on my application, I fear the degree of sluggishness and/or ineptitude of NYU Law as a whole that may exist. Thankyaverymuchhavaniceday."

Hmm that's weird, how can a letter from Manhattan take two days to get to Manhattan?

Not sure, but there it is. Maybe because I'm in upper Manhattan? Date on the letter was 4/15.

It took an entire week to put a piece of paper in an envelope and then put it in the mail? Really? Thanks for the demonstration of efficiency.

Looks like wait list city... Anyone get a letter telling them that they're IN this late in the game?

Because USPS standard mail take 2-9 days no matter where you are sending a letter. The letters in Manhattan have to go to a sorting facility first even before being delivered in Manhattan - this means 2 days is the fastest you can expect a letter to be sent.

Ah I see, for some reason I thought that intra-city mail takes only 1 day.

Calling this admissions office was easily the least rewarding decision I've ever made. @ UCLA, I've talked to Rob Schwartz on the phone several times. He responds to my emails within the hour. @ UW, I've talked to plenty of people, all of whom are informative and willing to help.

@ NYU? I get a gruff stressed out sounding old lady who yells at me that no information is given over the phone. And she repeated herself: "USE THE EMAIL USE THE EMAIL!" Seriously... I'm pretty sure most hostage takers on the phone with the chief of police are more calm and coherent than this lady was.

The funny thing was: this call wasn't recent. I made it a while ago in an attempt to call and update my mailing info. Yes, all the freaking out was about updating my mailing info. It was kinda pathetic.

The NYU administration personnel were, far and away, the least helpful (and most rude) people I met in all my law school visits. Hence my decision not to attend.

I only visited four schools in-person (although have interacted via phone/e-mail with personnel from many other schools), but titcr IMO.

Waitlisted yesterday, as expected.

The CCN waitlist trifecta, a dream come true. *sigh* at the predictability of the admissions process.
