Just tell them that you'll accept the BPE in person. Then you can jump in on the ASW next Thursday/Friday. ;)

The final batch is interesting b/c it includes those who submitted early, it almost seems like a big "catch up". Here's some examples (sorted by app. date):

10/18 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/ths24
10/27 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/susannakpark
10/28 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/true5081
11/01 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/lem37
11/15 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/tankiepankie
12/01 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/TylerDoom
12/01 http://lawschoolnumbers.com/lsathlete

BTW, here's the list of accepted applicants only sorted by date so you can see it yourself:

edit: added to list

i am these people. i hope hope hope it works the same way this year.

edit: ok, after looking at their lsats...maybe not quite so. eff

i did last summer. felt like home. i didn't have success meeting with anyone of any importance, but then again...it was the summer, so not exactly a happening time for admissions, maybe? in any case, enjoy! I spent about 30 minutes, checked out the library, and then wandered to Nolita and dreamt about me living in an apartment there...

Yeah that batch looks like they were definitely shoring up their LSAT median. No reason that this cycle would work out the same way, obvs.

Thank you a million for taking the time to compile this. Making me feel SLIGHTLY better about what I thought was certain waitlisting. I've got a 171/3.75, but I'm an LSAT retaker with a much worse first score. My problem is that I was offered a small scholarship at GULC and have to commit by April 1. When I do that, I have to withdraw from all other schools.

Looks like it's going to be a photo finish, right down to the last minute.

No problem! I'm in the same situation with GULC...frustrating but what can you do.

I keep telling myself, in a month this will be all over. Unless I'm WL, in which case it will be a very long summer (last year, the very few WL admits @ NYU were in August...).

Very true. But in 07-08, there was only one acceptance from 3/12 to 3/24, with the following acceptances from 3/24 on:

(sent date followed by decision date)

Code: Select all

rosalita           172   3.75   11/01/07   03/27/08
hooligan I         172   3.68   11/03/07   04/24/08
sosueme            169   3.7   11/13/07   03/26/08
spencerd           174   3.63   11/16/07   03/24/08
LastGreatFool      174   3.74   11/24/07   03/31/08
topsider           172   3.42   12/19/07   03/24/08
WyattOil U         166   3.64   12/21/07   04/10/08

Source: http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... c&status=3

While LSN does not show such a pattern in 06-07, that may be due to lack of data. 05-06 shows the pattern as well, albeit with different dates:

No acceptances from 3/14 until 4/5. Acceptances from 4/5 on:

(sent date followed by decision date)

Code: Select all

LadyLolli       172   3.31   11/03/05   04/10/06
irks            175   3.25   11/05/05   04/17/06
wbbec1 U        164   3.51   11/15/05   04/05/06
heyheyhey       180   3.6   12/10/05   04/10/06
stankysupreme   174   3.38   01/13/06   04/10/06

Interesting, thanks for doing all this research. All those people have better numbers than me, guess I should just hope for another WL.

Your LSAT is higher, so unless they are looking for GPA only or a combo of both I still say you got a great chance.

Since we're on the subject, here's links to the WL, Accepted lists from 2006 on, sorted by LSAT descending:

08-09 - (none on LSN, although a few on TLS got accepted in August)
07-08 - http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... order=desc
06-07 - http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... order=desc

Note that 07-08 favored LSAT, 06-07 was more of an even split. Didn't NYU try to raise its LSAT median in 07-08?

and if you haven't done it yet, do a search for applicants with your EXACT numbers and see what comes up. this will give you the clearest picture. most of these peeps that got in late had higher LSATS, but their GPAs weren't the most competitive. who knows what NYU will need this year. they can't go solely on lsat and neglect their GPA median either.

in any case, it made me feel better because i found a late admit from two years back that had my exact numbers. let me be that person, this cycle. *folds hands in prayer, again*

I believe they settle such matters in a mud wrestling match in Washington Square Park.

They should have a tournament for people trying to get off the waitlist.
