Has anyone else had this issue?

Completed my app in mid-December, e-mail acknowledgement to say file was complete in mid-January, otherwise they've been taciturn.
There is none, wait at your mailbox. :P.
Well, not so fast. You can obsessively try logging into the admitted site.

LSAC still hasn't processed my transcript update. It was sent ~12 days ago. Oh well, I don't expect NYU to be making lightning fast decision on grade-requested applicants anyway.

LSAC took a while on mine. We'll see when they finally get anything back to me.

Is there any idea, based on previous years, when applicants who had fall grade requests start to hear back, or is random as far as we can tell?

For anyone who is interested, my numbers are 3.7/171.
That is a strange rejection. Did you apply to CLS?
Yep, got waitlisted. To be honest, there's nothing I can think of that would make them give me a flat out rejection. My PS was good (not fantastic, but good), and my softs are decent. The only possibility is that they don't like my undergrad (I am in fashion school-- queue the Elle Woods jokes now). Oh well, this means I'll most likely be headed to DC.
Your UG shouldn't matter. I have a kid in my class who went to FIT. Your numbers put you in the right range ... That's tough man. Hopefully CLS lets you in.

Badfish, how do you think NYU compares with Chicago for private practice?

Well that doesn't help.

They both place extremely well in biglaw and I would hesitate to draw a bright line distinction between the two. Typically this decision is made based on where you feel more comfortable and where you see yourself working in the future.

Okay--well how about if I said California?

edit: I also have Berkeley in the sack so if you think that would be a better option for CA Biglaw (someone suggested it wasn't a few weeks ago and I was confused) that is in play too. And thanks. I am having life crisis and trying to get opinions.

Well, considering it is outside of both of their major markets there are a few things to consider.

1) Chicago might have a slight advantage if the firm wants to diversify where it is getting its associates from (and there are a smaller number of Chicago alum than NYU alum).

2) NYU might have an advantage if there is a relatively large number of NYU grads working at the firm and if they can influence the hiring decisions (since b/c there are more NYU alum out there than Chicago alum, this is a distinct possibility as well).

3) You would probably be better off going to Berkeley if you wanted California BIGLAW.

Honestly, If you're really deciding between the two schools the best advice I can give you is to visit both and see which you like best.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the sheer access you will have to firms and biglaw lawyers living in a market like NYC is absolutely unparalleled.

+1, those are some great insights. I think NYU is my best shot at CCN.
