Analytical Reasoning:

19.

What is the reasoning flaw in the conclusion drawn by blue3585?

A) He fails to adequately define the terms "evidence" and "rankings."
B) He confuses the situation that there is no proof that an assertion is true with the situation that there is proof that the assertion is false.
C) He confuses a hypothesis with a fact supported by evidence.
D) He assumes that law school admissions operate according to a system that is easily comprehensible to the average mortal.
E) He assumes that NYU and CLS are not distinguishable from any other law school in their admissions practices.

The answer is B.

:wink:

fyi Managamy, I'm a girl :)

lol, I have a gender-neutral handle that stems from the fact that I used to want to go to Michigan for LS, so no worries.

Thanks, it's my favorite movie

I'm not quite understanding the connection between Michigan and gender neutrality?

It's so great to see other people my age enjoying classic movies; it makes me feel less like an honorary 50-year-old when I'm watching something in black and white.

The 'blue' in my handle stems from 'let's go blue'--there's the Michigan connection. :)

I really prefer classic movies to newer ones overall (most of my favorites are from the '50s and '60s) so you're not definitely alone in enjoying them.

+180, the highest number that exists.

I'm actually extending the definition of 'classic movies' through 1979 to include all of Brando's body of (good) work.

I don't know how I like this trend of everyone making acronyms for each school's acceptance pack.

"Just got my BOE from Texas, the DBP from Duke nearly 3 weeks ago, the BPE from NYU a week and a half ago, and the VCE from Columbia last Saturday along with my BBB from them yesterday"

BPE = Big Purple Envelope
VCE = Vomit Colored Envelope (my personal fave)
BBB = Big Blue Binder?

Not sure about the others; Texas is probably big orange envelope.

hth :wink:

edit: Sogui, I am jealous of your VCE and BBB.

+1. (+if you wrote an addendum or not)

I've taken 3 times now, but starting to get really worried that they actually truly are averaging. Submitted back in Oct.

You guys mind sharing your stats? Were you numbers auto-admits?

I submitted less than a week after you guys but I haven't even gone complete yet.

FWIW, I would feel fine going alone...

I'm going to the event of another school, but I thought that the main point still applied.

Sorry, I was trying to be facetious and sarcastic. Fail. (Also, I thought you meant Columbia.)

I got a call from an alumni as well today...he was very helpful and I ended up talking to him for quite some time.

So, I submitted 12/12, got a received e-mail on 12/22, and just today got a complete e-mail. Does this seem bad? I know that people who have submitted after me have been accepted. I'm 3.7/171, so I know it's a stretch.
