First, try logging into the admitted students site. If that doesn't work, don't panic! The batch of acceptances that went out a few days ago was only the first batch of acceptances including people from the 1/12-complete pool. It also included people who went complete long before 1/12. You can get accepted in any of the remaining batches of acceptances, and there will probably be at least seven more waves (one per week until early/mid-March, then more sporadically in late March and April). That you didn't get accepted in the first batch just means that you're not a 180/4.33 URM Teach for America alum with a military background  Only the most obvious admits get in with the very first batch of acceptances.

So it seems all the acceptances this month have come from people who sent in December and all the rejections are from people sent in October. Time to give up my remaining hope.

What about the 1/08 completes? Anybody heard yet? If I can't log in to the admitted students site is that a definite waitlist/reject?

I applied in mid-October. With my #s (168, 3.94, PR URM), do you think it makes sense for me to write a LOCI and send an additional LOR or two at this point in the cycle?

Oh. My. Gosh. Think, people. And read the earlier posts. The admitted students' site is for ADMITTED STUDENTS. If you can't log in, then you are not admitted yet. Not never. Yet. It typically takes weeks after an application is complete to receive a decision--even for the most spectacular candidates. So after going complete 1/8, you probably have some time left. Chill. Out.

I couldn't log in for three or four weeks after the decision.

Can't hurt, but I don't think any URMs (other than those with numbers that would easily get them in without URM status) have gotten in yet. I would guess that they're holding out until after the application deadline to make decisions about URMs so they know what a lot of the rest of their class will look like, numbers-wise, first.

Have any RD applicants been WL or held/deferred at NYU?

You're a wonderful human being! That made me feel a lot better. :D

Though I'll still be sick to my stomach until I get a purple envelope or my rejection letter.

Just got the purple envelope Friday--my first acceptance. I was out of town without cell service all weekend and didn't get my roommates' texts and voicemails about it, so it was a nice surprise to come home to last night.

I applied for the RTK-- anyone else? When should I start worrying that I haven't gotten an invite to interview?

Question about the LOR possibility- would you be sending through LSAC or directly to NYU? I'm thinking about adding a LOR to my complete application and am not sure what the best way to go about that is. Good luck to you!!

I did one for Harvard and sent a LOCI and extra LOR straight to the school and the LOR posted on my status checker so obviously it worked out. Your call.

One thing is that I would make sure you sign the outside of the envelope of the LOR you are sending and have your LOR writer sign on the seal so they know you didn't read it or doctor it. Also, put your LSAC number on the LOCI and the envelope and anything else you include. hth

I just got a purple envelope! The letter was dated 1/19. I submitted on 12/30 and never got a "complete" email or anything. This was the first I had heard from them.

Stats are 3.87/176. So I'm not surprised to be in, but I'm happy because I like NYU, and I'm hoping to be in the running for RTK. It's a long shot, but ya know.

Haven't checked the mail yet, but I got an email from NYU congratulating me on my acceptance(as If I had already recieved notice) and indicating that I need to write an essay for the Intellectual Property scholarship....

I like some other people on here, had not heard a single peep from them since sending in my application.
