i applied back in september. FWIW, i'm pretty sure that my getting in "today" was just a factor of my address being far away - i'm in california so i'd imagine it took a while to get there. i don't think there's a big distinction to be made in terms of getting in today vs getting in several days ago

Yeah, it looks like almost everyone accepted went complete on 11/17 or earlier. I'm just waiting for the next batch to get sent out since I think it should be pretty soon.

I'm almost positive this is not correct. Following this thread and looking at LSN, I know there are a decent handful of acceptances already for people complete on 11/25, and at least one person (columbiagirl, ED) complete on 12/1. Her review evidently took a day or two.

Check LSN. It's correct.

Well I just reread your post and noticed the word "almost." There's no point at issue here. My apologies.

I also identified at least three acceptances on LSN with 11/25 listed as the complete date, and found Columbiagirl's verification of her 12/1 complete date to corroborate my information.

The people accepted on 11/25 were either urms or extremely high number applicants as far as the 12/1 completion date that could have just been a problem with NYU's notification for that particular applicant since there isn't anyone else with that completion date. Anyway, let's hope they send out another big batch of acceptances soon.

no addendum. honestly, i'm really beginning to very much doubt that schools still average, even those that claim to

+1. Though it seems possible that it could be a reason to preclude a JR1/JR2. Didn't both you and crackberry retake, and neither of you have a JR2 (yet!). I feel like Harvard might use it from time to time as a tie-breaker.

mm, sensitive subject, heh. can't say for crackberry, but i retook and improved several points. but i think there are already at least a few cases this cycle of people getting in with a competitive high LSAT score, but an average score that would probably put them completely out of the running if it were given much consideration

Yeah I'm a re-taker as well. My average puts me out of the running at HLS. My high score is still below their 25th, but it's very close.

I went from a 163 (it still kills me that I almost cancelled) to a 173. I didn't write an addendum for NYU and got in (quickly at that). Their averaging claims are BS.

For the ED'ers who have been accepted and also applied to Michigan but haven't heard from Mich yet:

Does your Michigan status checker say withdrawn?

Has anyone gotten in at NYU without getting a complete notification? I submitted 11/21, got an acknowledgment 12/1, and since then it's been crickets. I heard that some people waited months before getting a complete email from NYU.

When did you receive an "under review" email from NYU?

I remember a few people saying they got in without a complete notification. Maybe it was Maggiebre (I could be wrong?)

Nope, not me. But a few definitely did say that.

Ya. All apps are closed everywhere, except Guam since they are like a day ahead or whatev.

Couldn't take it anymore, so I called and asked if a decision had been mailed yet...
talked to a VERY nice lady, who told me that it hadn't been mailed yet, but would be soon, and I could expect it possibly early next week

On the one hand I'm scared/nervous/worried.. on the other hand I at least have an idea when my (waitlist/rejection from second batch) will be arriving

Nothing in the mail again today. Something better be in my box when I return mid January, or else I give up hope and withdraw to preempt the ding.
