Has that been the experience this year, as well?

EDIT: One more question...Has anyone with multiple LSAT scores gotten in, cases in which they seemed to take the higher score rather than averaging?

Thanks!
i think it depends on when you apply. if you applied in september, you wouldn't have heard until december anyway. however, some people who applied in december heard back in december, and other people who applied in september still have not heard.

regarding multiple LSAT scores, it seems to be equally random. some people have gotten in where the average of their LSAT scores would suggest they wouldn't, and others haven't (yet).

Just out of curiosity, is trying to log on to the admitted students website been explored at all as a way to find out decisions earlier than the mail like it is with Michigan?

Access to the NYU Admitted Students Site is usually activated 5 days after mailing out the acceptance. So if your mail takes longer than that to arrive, I suppose it could be a potential way to figure out if you've been accepted. I know that some international applicants found out that way last year.

I waited a little over a month for a response (submitted early Nov) but seem to have been in one of the early batches of RD acceptances. I don't think they average based on my app at least, I had a first score in the low 160s, second score mid-170s. averaging would give me a 168 or 169. I don't think any school I applied to actually averaged but fingers crossed on that since I'm still waiting on a few.

I called awhile back and asked if they were using the same policy from last year and not notifying RDers of WLs and rejections until April and the lady said all decisions would be rolling.

IIRC, I don't believe there has been one RD WL or rejection to date. Correct?

Also waiting, but my completion date is 11/3. With my #s and URM status, I don't know if I have a shot. But if I do, I'll probably be making depressing posts in here for months, as I'm told URMs with less-than-median #'s often have long cycles. Good luck.

+1 on 11/3 and still waiting. I expect my WL/Reject notification in about 2 months.

Ah you never know. NYU might go for your LSAT + UG combo.

I haven't given up all hope yet, but I sort of feel that if they were going to go for it they would have already. Otherwise, I think a WL is in my future.

Don't forget that these schools get CRUSHED with applications after the Dec. LSAT scores come out. So these adcomms come back from holiday/New Year's break and suddenly have 2000-3000 more apps to deal with.

If they are smart, they take a look at the new stuff to get a better idea of what kind of class they will have. They don't want to take a 3.6/168 who applied in October over a 3.8/170 who applied late December. And yes, even if you are a 3.7/172, that sometimes means your decision gets delayed because of the backup.

Anyway, NYU has been on the ball compared to Columbia, fwiw.
This makes me feel better. Thanks :D
