Are you going to UVA? It's beautiful there and you won't have to deal with the noise, smog, filthy subway, or high rent.

thanks, neiman. i wish! i'm going to fordham with 75k scholarship. my husband has a job he can't leave in NYC and we decided we couldn't live apart for 3 years (we just got married in august). UVa is amazing though. maybe in another life!neimanmarxist wrote:I'm sorry those are really good numbers too.hannah87 wrote:in the biggest WTF moment of my cycle, REJECTED by NYU. i was pretty sure i'd be waitlisted. maybe the 2 LOCIs i sent before my decision were a turn-off? who knows. strange cycle, indeed.

Congrats on the Fordham scholly. That would be a competitive offer to UVA even if you didn't have a beau in the city.

awesome scholly! but I don't think UVA would budge.. not a "peer" school
that's what all these T10 schools are saying.

Seriously, NYU? Still no rejection letter?
This better be because my neighbor hasn't dropped off my mail in a few days/weeks, and not because you still haven't sent it.

Re: NYU 2010
thanks, starsong. it really sucks. only thing i can think of is that my pandering letters were annoying to them. it comforts me to see that 2 others on LSN with very similar numbers were rejected by NYU but got into amazing places like uva, chicago, michigan...so we're clearly not bad applicants, ya know?starsong wrote:...shocked...hannah87 wrote:in the biggest WTF moment of my cycle, REJECTED by NYU. i was pretty sure i'd be waitlisted. maybe the 2 LOCIs i sent before my decision were a turn-off? who knows. strange cycle, indeed.

Of course you're not a bad applicant! Not giving you a WL makes no sense...maybe they ding everyone who tries to log onto the admitted students site before getting the letter? *shudders at the thought* Anyone who tried get a WL/accept?hannah87 wrote:thanks, starsong. it really sucks. only thing i can think of is that my pandering letters were annoying to them. it comforts me to see that 2 others on LSN with very similar numbers were rejected by NYU but got into amazing places like uva, chicago, michigan...so we're clearly not bad applicants, ya know?

Anyway, thanks for the positive words. Nothing in the mail from NYU today. Now I'd be very, very grateful for a WL...

They should send out shirts with acceptances... I need a UM shirt. I will wear a cooley shirt if they sent me one.
Anyway, so WL/ding are all that's left? I should withdraw.

don't withdraw, r6! they'd be ridiculously stupid not to take you.

Re: NYU 2010
Well, it turns out I didn't need to call. It did break up my boring workday though. Rejected in the mail today.
When I started this cycle, way back before I took my LSAT, my dream was to go to Georgetown. I am ending up doing that with a 20K annual scholarship and 5K workstudy. I should be thrilled. I will be thrilled. I'm pretty unhappy right now though.
Oh well, best of luck to everyone else, and hopefully I'll see a few of you on the Hill next summer.
Rock Fordham Hannah!
