Complete since 11/10. URM splitter. No love from NYU (yet?). Have they started sending out RD rejections yet??

So is the consensus that NYU is "cool" with someone calling to check on the status of his or her application? I submitted 11/12 and went complete 12/1, so I was hoping to have a decision with the rest of this group.
FWIW, my numbers are exactly at both medians.

You can certainly call. When I called, the lady wouldn't check anything for me, but others have had great experiences.

According to LSN there's been a mix; some have been a bit earlier than 12/08.ValiantVic wrote:Were all these 12/14 letters 12/08 completes?

Re: NYU 2010
I know that no one may know the answer to this question, but just in case anyone has any insight to provide:
The Hold letter from NYU (ED hold) says they will notify me of in/waitlist/out by the end of April... if I update my GPA with my current grades (requesting the transcript gets sent tomorrow, figure they will receive from LSAT in about 3 weeks) when might I hear by the earliest? Is NYU known to make ED holds wait until the end of April, or notify them sooner?

No decision yet. Bad news. Only a couple of people with my complete date who got accepted found out later than Christmas last year.

Seriously? 3 weeks from completion is hardly a lot of time. If we were talking 2 months, I might agree.rogerlodge wrote:complete 12/1 as well... too late to be good news?

Just asking since most of the admissions were complete after mine (12/8)GeePee wrote:Seriously? 3 weeks from completion is hardly a lot of time. If we were talking 2 months, I might agree.rogerlodge wrote:complete 12/1 as well... too late to be good news?

Most of what admissions? I think the biggest round so far came out on 12/1, not after 12/8.rogerlodge wrote:Just asking since most of the admissions were complete after mine (12/8)GeePee wrote:Seriously? 3 weeks from completion is hardly a lot of time. Re: NYU 2010
Well, LSN from last year gives reason for pessimism if you have that complete date and no decision. Sometimes the people found out in January or February, but it seems like it was more likely a reject or waitlist.GeePee wrote:Seriously? 3 weeks from completion is hardly a lot of time. The wait is killer to me because my fiancee's deposit at NYU dental school is $1,500 and is due on January 15th. And it's non-refundable. And if I can't get into NYU, then I probably can't get into Columbia, and we probably won't go to NYC.

LOL. No joke. She already got into Harvard Dental School. That's really where I'm most desperate to get in, but most likely I'll just end up at BC (in) or BU (no decision yet)......puppins wrote:RAN here to post this same thingkittenmittons wrote:Forget law school. In!!!!! RD, Letter dated 12/14 and postmarked 12/16.
EDIT: I never received any correspondence from NYU before this (no received email, no complete email) and got in. So it's definitely possible at any time.

Now, you were something of an auto-admit, but you got your application in pretty late, so I think this may help point to why it's disheartening to not have a decision yet if you are RD and submitted in mid-November/complete early December.....
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
