That's good for me at least. If I get $$ from any of CCN it'll be because they're try to somewhat match an MVP offer.Jericwithers wrote:I wouldn't expect them to return to our files for another month (yay--more waiting!). Yeah I'm out of school, so I wouldn't have been asked about transcript updates. Oh well, the waiting game continues!

NYU was the only school of CCN to WL/accept the 180 3.0 splitter from two cycles ago.oneforship wrote:I'm complete 11/3,and haven't heard a word.fidesverita wrote:Anyone from early Nov hear back yet? I think you have a better UG than that person did so maybe you have a shot?

Is NYU even worth it over UVA if I'm not married to NYC biglaw?hopefulundergrad wrote:NYU was the only school of CCN to WL/accept the 180 3.0 splitter from two cycles ago.oneforship wrote:I'm complete 11/3,and haven't heard a word.fidesverita wrote:Anyone from early Nov hear back yet? Complete 11/10--people are getting dinged? Is it time to send LOCI or a letter from a partner at the firm I work?oneforship wrote:I'm complete 11/3,and haven't heard a word.fidesverita wrote:Anyone from early Nov hear back yet? TBH, if the decision ever arises, I'd probably pick UVA. I'm not married to NYC biglaw either and actually am NYC averse but would live there if I got the right offer.oneforship wrote:Is NYU even worth it over UVA if I'm not married to NYC biglaw?hopefulundergrad wrote:NYU was the only school of CCN to WL/accept the 180 3.0 splitter from two cycles ago.oneforship wrote:I'm complete 11/3,and haven't heard a word.fidesverita wrote:Anyone from early Nov hear back yet? I just think their placement is comparable and the COL and QOL differences tip the scale in UVA's favor.

Re: NYU 2010
I've been wondering the same thing, though I have yet to hear back from NYU. NYU is higher ranked and probably a better fit but with the cost of living and the difference in tuition it's probably twice as expensive, and I am not sure it's worth it.oneforship wrote:Is NYU even worth it over UVA if I'm not married to NYC biglaw?hopefulundergrad wrote:NYU was the only school of CCN to WL/accept the 180 3.0 splitter from two cycles ago.oneforship wrote:I'm complete 11/3,and haven't heard a word.fidesverita wrote:Anyone from early Nov hear back yet? Really, the only significant placement advantage that I can see is in PI. Which could be a self-selection thing, too.hopefulundergrad wrote: I just think their placement is comparable and the COL and QOL differences tip the scale in UVA's favor.

Probably is. Most everyone's LRAP sucks except for HYS CN MB.oneforship wrote:Really, the only significant placement advantage that I can see is in PI. Quick question... does anyone have a contact name or email address for an admissions director or dean other than the very general law.moreinfo@nyu.edu posted on the admissions website?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Chicago's is actually better than I thought given that they don't take assets or spousal income into the equation and they have a pretty high ceiling. It still leaves you with a pretty small take home income, but this means you almost always qualify for it regardless of how many yachts you own.hopefulundergrad wrote:Probably is. Try their directory on their website. It should have e-mail addresses for specific people.js87 wrote:Quick question... does anyone have a contact name or email address for an admissions director or dean other than the very general law.moreinfo@nyu.edu posted on the admissions website?

The person in charge of admissions is actually an assistant dean at the school -- Kenneth Kleinrock. His title is Assistant Dean for Admissions. Don't have an email address for him, though.js87 wrote:Quick question... does anyone have a contact name or email address for an admissions director or dean other than the very general law.moreinfo@nyu.edu posted on the admissions website?

Perfectly normal. I was in the 1/12-received wave as well; I sent them an e-mail after I didn't get the complete e-mail with most others on 1/20, and they got back to me on 1/22 saying that my application was complete and under review. You almost certainly are as well.orphanarium wrote:I applied on 1/1, received the notice of receipt on 1/12 and have yet to receive an application complete email. Is this wait normal? That's a relief -- I was getting a bit worried about not getting a complete email and I was in the 1/12 received batch. (Now just gotta worry about not getting the complete yet from Michigan...)BenJ wrote:Perfectly normal. Does anyone know if the institutional aid application is available yet?
Also, I am wondering if the scholarships they offer are considered grants, or if these are two separate categories.

in the FAQ it saysCanadianEH wrote:Does anyone know if the institutional aid application is available yet?

8. When will I receive financial aid information?
Detailed information on financing your education at the Law School is available in the Financial Services section of this Web site. Additionally, please review the Financial Aid FAQ’s on this section of our Web site. Admitted students can now access the online financial aid application. If you have any questions regarding financial aid, please call the Office of Student Financial Services at (212) 998-6050.
but I cannot find an application. I guess they mean NetPartner? but I don't know where to find a log in for that.

The admitted students site says the financial aid form will be available in mid to late February.
