I am still complete only, if they are admitting holds I suppose it doesn't look good for the rest of us pending?

Depends how long ago you went complete--January or earlier and it doesn't look good. I went complete in January. Whatever.

Less than a month for me, I was really late. I hope they haven't run out of spots since I am not anywhere near must admit numbers.

This school told me I'd hear before the end of March. If I don't hear within the next 48 hrs I'm just going to assume I've been admitted.

YES! Made my day.
Just to clarify--were you regular or early decision?

Makes sense. At this time in past years, admits from hold heard via e-mail. WLs/rejects came via the mail.

Are non-holds accepted via email? My status check simply reads "complete", I applied close to the deadline.

I also applied quite close to deadline. From what I can tell, it would seem we'll need to wait for an actual mailing. They don't update past "Complete." No "Decision Rendered" or anything along those lines.

Nope -- but they promised by the end of March, right? So I should expect my WL/rejection in the mail today?

Well, I found my letter (thought I'd burned that thing....) the other day, and on mine at least it essentially said that they would begin reviewing again at the end of March. Now I fear we've still weeks to go.

By April 21, according to the "hold" letter.

I just received an e-mail (I am a hold) asking me for a letter of continuing interest. I did send one last week and am assuming the office has not processed it, but I thought people here might be interested/also received it.

Ditto. I think it was just a standard email to all of us. When I sent in my LOCI, I did get an email confirmation saying they added it to my file. I wouldn't worry about it.

I had a similar reaction at first, but re-read the e-mail again and it says "if you have not already done so."

ETA: jl2032, how long after did you receive an e-mail confirmation? I know mine was delivered earlier this week but have not received one.

They're being super nice to give people another 7 days to send in their LOCI.

If I were in their place, I'd throw out any files for people who couldn't do it by the 3/31 date. I guess I'm not that nice a person.

FWIW I mailed my LOCI in at end of February but just in case decided to send a pdf of it by email Monday, with a note "in case you didn't see it." I got a response yesterday saying that they would add it to my file, implying they hadn't already.

I sent it both by email and regular mail. They responded to my email the next day:
Thank you for your continued interest in Columbia Law School. We will add this letter to your file.

I sent one ages ago, but I feel like I'm going to get penalized for not sending another one.

Anyone else notice the subtle change in the language from the Hold letter to this e-mail? "Please be advised that you will receive a decision from the Committee no later than April 21, 2010" becomes "we will make every effort to mail your decision no later than the date specified in your letter" (emphasis added).
jl2032 wrote:They're being super nice to give people another 7 days to send in their LOCI.
Is this sarcasm? Most (all?) people on hold have had over a month, in my case almost two months, to send in a LOCI. They're fucking stalling, is what they're doing.

So I FedExed mine and sent a follow up email, but not with an attachment. I never heard anything, so, just to be on the safe side, I'd like to send the LOCI via email. PDF is the way to go?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
