He claimed to be from LA when he's actually from Fontana. I'm just confirming for him that he probably made the right choice to GTFO.

ahhhhh yeah yeah. really? asians? I think I only ever ventured there to shop for something and then immediately fled

according to wiki, the cities with the most asians tend to be walnut, diamond bar, rowland heights, san gabriel, and rosemead (a mix of the 626 and 909):
walnut is around 55% asian and 28% white, diamond bar is around 50% asian and 33% white, rowland heights is around 50% asian and 29% white, san gabriel is 49% asian and 33% white, and rosemead is around 49% asian and 27% white.

when you're in any of the cities, though, it often feels like 70-80% of the population are asians. they are EVERYWHERE

i wonder what you went to shop for... it always feels like there's nothing to do in walnut/db

there was a small independent pet store there that had things for bunnies... it is somewhat difficult to find bunny supplies? apparently, I don't notice being completely surrounded by asians though. shrug.

California FTW.

I don't know about Walnut but I often drive all the way from West LA to Rowland Heights to enjoy the Asian scenery :D

I've never heard of anything like that for CLS. Maybe only PI superstars got in on 2/2, because my mailbox was devoid of VCEs today.

This maybe?

CLS wrote:Columbia Law School has a strong belief in providing financial support to law students who choose to enter public interest law.

Guaranteed Summer Funding: Columbia Law School guarantees funding for all 1L and 2L JD students who timely apply and work in eligible public interest summer internships. Stipends cover a range of placements both domestic and international including NGOs, not-for-profit organizations, criminal prosecution and defense work, and federal, state and local government agencies.

Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP): Columbia Law School also offers a Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) that is among the most generous in the country. Columbia provides all graduates who enter qualifying public interest employment within seven years of graduation with interest-free loans to repay a large portion of their law school debt. Loans are gradually forgiven after three years and completely forgiven after five years. Unlike programs at many other schools, Columbia Law School's LRAP has no salary cap because benefits are determined by the difference between annual loan repayments and expected contribution from income.

I knew about this, but isn't a full scholarship.

That's for people in the c/o 2009, but maybe they're doing something similar for students?

Maybe they're considering a full-tuition scholarship for splitters & are debating if they have to choose between us or if it's possible for both of us to get it...that's definitely the reason for their silence.

as in you probably would have been considered for the schol had your lsat been higher? you never know, maybe you are/were being considered for it.

sometimes i fool myself into believing that my gpa is not too terribly low to qualify me for the dream of a butler. but then i remember my lack of vce.

If they sent out a batch of VCEs on 2/2, I would expect more acceptances reported by now. The lonely admit makes me think it was just for people who got that super-awesome scholarship. No VCE here, in Mass.
