Definitely true. Even though I knew I should anticipate a test day drop, I still had unrealistic expectations for my score based off of my PT performance (especially those proctored TestMasters diagnostics that are supposed to mimic 'real testing conditions') and felt a little crappy getting my score, even though I hit my goal of 175+.

+1. The first time I took the test I was hoping for a 172. I did badly, took a ton more practices tests, and after getting those few perfect scores, I couldn't help but hope to get a perfect score on the real thing, and was almost disappointed with a 177, which I should be perfectly happy with.

To bring this thread back on track: I withdrew from Columbia, hopefully I've freed up a spot for someone else on here!

No, but my JR1 is scheduled for next week. Although honestly my personal preferences of the top 3 aren't in line with USNews. So it's going to come down to Yale.

hopefulundergrad, you're a sly one!

I don't think so. I am Hispanic, however 1) I'm not a US citizen/permanent resident so I don't think URM applies, and 2) I'm neither Mexican, Cuban nor Puerto Rican. I might have had a boost from being Hispanic, but I'd like to think I got a bigger boost from my other softs.

ok this is killing me. did anyone else who got an info request (particularly non-grade requests) in the last few weeks not get in? i mean, i can understand a random fall grade request thing, but asking for an inconsequential info clarification just seems like they're baiting me.

i'm a 4.46 from HYPS, and they couldn't be deciding on a scholarship for me, because my gpa definitely puts me out of any running.

Yeah, unless it's part of the same batch as the 1/26 crowd and just got postmarked a little after.

I'm same index and I didn't even get a grade request. Consider yourself lucky! (and eventually admitted)

Do they award Hamiltons/Butlers later in the cycle? I just applied this past week and if I could get either scholarship my cycle would probably be over.

FWIW, on LSN, there were Hamiltons/Butlers awarded to students who went complete in January and February.

Good luck to you.

If kweller submitted last week, there is probably no chance for a Hamilton. The last Hamiltons reported last year came in early/mid February; kweller will probably not go complete for another week, which means no decision by that point. (And the Hamiltons reported for February look like they might have been sent out in January; it is possible that all Hamiltons have already been given out in the 1/24, 1/26 and 1/27 acceptances.) A Butler is still possible, as those came out into late February.

This all assumes that the patterns are the same this year as last, of course. In any case, a 174/3.7 would not get a Hamilton anyway, and a Butler is also unlikely. There appears to be an LSAT cutoff around 176 and a GPA cutoff around 3.75.

Yep, I got a non-grade request and have not heard anything. I, too, am dying.

How do you calculate your index number? Is it the 'score' on Law School Predictor?

And if it is, do I have any shot with a 4.279 score on LSP, from a poorly ranked public undergrad?

Yes, and probably not, although a 4.2 reported getting in earlier on this thread. Are you a serious splitter or just both numbers below medians? Are you a URM?

Same question, except I'm a 4.250 at a TTT UG and I'm URM.

Thanks for the info. Is the 176 cutoff for both scholarships? Or just the Hamilton? My GPA is a 3.79, btw.

171 and 3.75, non URM, good softs... but at Columbia, I'm sure they're dwarfed by some great stuff.

Congrats!

Question: Do you only hear about your decision via mail? Is there a phone call/email/status checker change?

(My PO Box is no longer active (at the WORST possible time!) so I'm worried about schools that only notify by post...)

Only via snail mail. Online status doesn't change after "complete".
