I think the consensus on here was that this was probably a troll, but here's a little update from the guy who claimed to ED to Columbia and then did not withdraw his other apps after being accepted:

Seems even more of a flame now. Aggressive asshole gets his comeuppance, it's too good of a story.

You're probably right. The only reason I even wonder is that the guy spaced out his story over time. I mean, he first reported acceptances at Harvard, UCLA, etc.; then, a couple weeks later, he got his ED acceptance from Columbia; then, a little later still, he declared that he was not withdrawing from the other schools; and now, a month later, he's reporting that he's been rejected from most of his schools. If he is a troll, he really worked at drawing things out over a couple of months before delivering the punch line.

There is no punch line. Trolls demand attention, and that's what he gets when he updates his profile with a new twist.

I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed to death earlier in the thread, but what do you guys think my chances of being offered a Hamilton are? 3.77 from an average small liberal arts college, 179, index of about 4.65 (LSAC rounded it up to 4.7). Wrote a diversity statement about a painful medical condition, have tons of extra-curriculars in lots of different areas (these are listed on my LSN profile), and a couple minor internships, but nothing truly impressive on my resume. I sent my application on 12/12, got my complete email on 12/21 (interestingly my first complete from a T14 by far). Edit: Looking at LSN, it looks like CLS just completes applications unusually quickly.

Are most Hamilton offers given with the acceptance? Being offered a Hamilton would be amazing.

No RD acceptances yet? Their admissions office is slower than Chicago's... and that's saying something.

I wouldn't be shocked if we don't get any this week either.

LSN makes it seem like the first wave of acceptances after ED came around January 22nd, if I remember right.

Yeah, but the CLS website indicates early February for the first wave.

Er, I'm not sure what you think we can tell you. Your chances look really good, but who knows? If it doesn't work out, you're definitely a serious contender for a Butler.

Simply out of curiosity because I know I don't stand a chance at either one, how many Hamiltons/Butlers does CLS give out each year? In other words, how many spaces in each entering class are taken up by Hs or Bs?

+1
I've looked around but never found any reliable answer to this.

Darn it. Where does it say that? I would like to have an idea of where I'm going to law school before I start applying to summer jobs.

"The earliest completed regular decision applicants will probably start receiving decisions in early February."

Confused by the wording. Is it supposed to be "The earliest THAT completed...." or "The earliest completed regular decision applications" (meaning those RD applicants who sent their apps in Sept/October)?

I think the latter - that those who submitted earliest will hear earliest. Though I have a hard time believing auto-admits who applied in November won't be in the first batch too...

Last year, there were some auto-admits who applied in late December/early January who got in by early February, according to LSN. I would expect a similar pattern, with most or all auto-admits who went or will go complete by mid-late January getting in in early-mid February.

Just to clarify, you're automatically considered for a Hamilton when you apply, right? It wasn't a separate application?
