I totally agree. Why even go after me when we have you around? You're like my first layer of defense against insults. I can always throw back an "at least I'm not kittonmittons."

I don't really understand that, "oh, you have a lot of posts. hahaha take that!" thing. It confuses me as to why that is an insult.

I think they assume that you are both vitamin-D deficient, gollum-like beasts staring at glowing computer screens in rooms with blackout curtains.

While that describes me pretty spot on, I will quote my personal hero: "I am not an elephant! I am not an animal! I am a human being! I am a man! "

I guess. what else to people do to waste time at work?

TLS is safer than sexual harassment

TLS is sexual harassment without any of the consequences.

Sweet, I will need a good secretary when I am a lawyer.

No thanks. I know you just want me for my body.

What else are secretaries for?

Good point. When do I start?

Great, I started laughing at work. The jig is up; they know I'm only pretending to be busy!

Sorry, I haven't followed this thread. Can someone tell me what Columbia is doing? Why the acceptances two weeks ago and then just stagnancy? I'm confused and bitter.

I don't recall seeing anyone else with bad news yet, so I'll go first. They've begun sending out deferrals, bumping people from the ED to the RD cycle.

First class mail; postmarked yesterday, so I got the news pretty quick.

Yeah. I'm telling myself that a deferral is perfect. It leaves me the option to go somewhere else if I get the $$$ while still having conveyed to them that Columbia is my number 1. At least it wasn't a waitlist or a deny.

Anyone know their policy on LOCIs for deferred ED people?

Thanks. Even if it's not wholly true, I like to think this. I honestly don't care about the money...I'd really prefer just to get to go to Columbia.
