No, I thought that maybe it was a prerequisite for admissions, and I was worried because I hadn't gotten the email.

I don't think they're worried about your fall grades, Managamy

Definitely not a prerequisite. The e-mail implied that they would like to see my grades before fully considering my application.

Out of curiosity — excepting Northwestern which I know disproportionately values WE — what percentage of the average T14 class is made of up straight-from-UG kids? Anyone know?

I would give a guesstimate of around 35%

Too lazy to do the research, but I recall Dean Kramer saying that straight-out-of-undergrad Stanford 1Ls make up ~ 25% of the class. Can't imagine it varies too much from this (granted, Stanford probably loves work experience more than most schools).

Cool, I thought maybe I'd be a senior citizen in my 1L class but it seems like I'll probably be pretty average matriculating at 24.

Can someone tell me how decisions are given for acceptances, denials, and holds? Snail mail, status checker, or email? Thanks.

You didn't send it directly to Columbia?

Columbia didn't request my fall grades, but I figured I could ask here because people would be sending grades in to LSAC. I wanted to get my grades to all the schools I'm waiting on, though, Columbia included...do you think I should have sent (or should send) a transcript to each school rather than just waiting for lsac? :-/

Ahh... I misunderstood, because it was kind of in the middle of people discussing Columbia asking for fall grades. As for your question...I'm not sure, I'd probably do it through LSAC.

LSAC processed my grades surprisingly fast (a couple of days, I don't remember exactly).

a rep from the admissions office i spoke to explicitly said that they do not want to receive updated transcripts directly from your UG. submitting via the LSAC is the preferred course. LSAC was able to turn around my most recent transcript update very quickly (~4 days from receipt to creation of a new LSDAS report).

You both have significantly higher GPAs than I do. That's probably the reason =)

Also, just fyi, the fall grades e-mail specified that I send my transcript directly to the admissions office.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
