it's okay, I was no doubt a shitty fit for CLS anyway. Now I guess I should concentrate on my H LOCI and breathe a sigh of relief about avoiding NYC real estate.

I don't see why I wouldn't stay on hold. in fact, I will write a LOCI. my first choice doesn't appear to be giving me money so it's time to start whoring myself out to higher ranked schools out of desperation.

I think this is a yield protect play. This lets them conserve their yield rate, where the higher applicants (non Hamilton/Butlers) may withdraw after being held. This way, they can accurately gauge the interest and help their numbers.
