At least most of you who have no decision know it could come at any time . . . now I have to settle in until late April [strike]at least[/strike], worst case scenario.

why do I keep holding out hope! My numbers are probably auto-ding but I've been sitting on complete for months and I didnt get booted in that last round of rejections. Put me out of my misery.

I think that having 177 sexual partners without an STD would be a pretty impressive soft factor, to be honest.

There I was, handcuffed to the bed post by a mean trick named Medusa. (Some more fleshed out detail, every PS needs it...)
It was then that I realized I had made it. 177.
I will stop now.
I wonder when the next wave starts.

Re: Columbia 2010
Put on reserve at Columbia today. 171 (retaker) and 3.75. I'm actually pretty happy, because it was a reach. Going to do everything in my power to get in.
Just for clarification, there is no "waitlist" at CLS right? Reserve = Waitlist?
Also, the letter was a little vague -- can we send LOCIs?
And finally, does anyone know how much movement the reserve list has had in previous years? Is there any hope, or is it essentially a kind rejection?

I would definitely consider sending in a LOCI, mentioning anything significant that shines a stronger light on yourself.js87 wrote:Put on reserve at Columbia today. 171 (retaker) and 3.75. I'm actually pretty happy, because it was a reach. Going to do everything in my power to get in.

I believe there are multiple levels of the waitlist, and you are put on each during a specific time period past May.
Reserve does equal waitlist.

Thank you for the help. What do you mean about the multiple levels of waitlist, though?booboo wrote:I would definitely consider sending in a LOCI, mentioning anything significant that shines a stronger light on yourself.js87 wrote:Put on reserve at Columbia today. 171 (retaker) and 3.75. Reserve does equal waitlist.
I believe if you aren't selected in the first period of waitlist, you are put on second reserve, and then if not selected again, third reserve. Then it is game over.
The reserve periods are time dictated.

This is what we have been reduced to? I guess it is .

Also got a hold letter in the mail in DC today, postmarked Feb 9.
Back in 2008 I was placed on 'reserve' around this time, so I'm not sure whether this is an improvement or not...

A reserve is a waitlist. A hold is just "We'll get back to you later." Hold is better.

So even though Columbia told me that I can send a LOCI via e-mail, does anyone else feel more comfortable sending it in the mail? It just seems like it is less likely to get lost amongst everything else that is coming in their office if it is a physical copy. Or maybe I'm just old-fashioned...

I sent mine via snail mail. I just think it looks more professional. Plus, I signed it, which I also think adds a touch.ljmrc3344 wrote:So even though Columbia told me that I can send a LOCI via e-mail, does anyone else feel more comfortable sending it in the mail?
