Additionally is it worth sending a LOCI reiterating interest in the school

I'm still @ work, but I feel the hold/reserve/ding axe swinging my way.

I will run home to check my mail in a couple of hours--and then go find a support group to join.

So do they send all WL/R letters to perm addresses? I've recently been lead to believe that my apartment complexes mailing address is screwed up and tried to console myself that I'd have to wait for the followup "Welcome to Columbia" email (that will probably never come) for any word on my status, but if my eventual WL/reject letter gets lost in the mail will I ever know where I stand?

Someone at work just reminded me that mail won't be delivered on Monday b/c of presidents day. If I'm in the 2/11 batch it would take 3 days to get to me aka monday. More panic/waiting/fjklajfklasjklef

"Held" today. Is this a deferred, waitlist, or what? The letter says some applicants will be offered admission, placed in reserve, etc.

Held today - 176, 3.9. I'm not too interested in Columbia so I think I'm just going to withdraw. Good luck to everyone who's still waiting!

Thanks for posting your stats. Do you think this is just a case of YP? If not, that's scary.

I don't believe that Columbia YPs. I also don't think it was a problem with my app since I've gotten into several other good schools. Seems like there are several of us with stats above the 75th percentile so I'm not sure what the issue is. Oh well.

I've noticed that too...also how last month CLS asked many people with great stats for updated transcripts.

Anyone have any idea what the deal is here?

I'm not sure why people find it so hard to believe that CLS yield protects. It's so easy to put an overqualified applicant on hold to see if he's truly interested. So why wouldn't they do it? By putting this 176/3.9 on hold, they just slightly boosted their rank because he's withdrawing. The adcoms at Columbia are very rational people who have been hired not just to give Columbia a good student body, but also to make their rank as high as possible. There's no good reason not to practice subtle yield protection.

Because they throw Hamiltons and Butlers at people that, for the most part, end up choosing HYS anyway. Why is it so hard to believe that not all schools are looking for the exact same thing? Maybe she just got a reader that was in a particularly bad mood or something.

Anyone complete from early November still waiting? No word yet, but my stats make it a long shot; LSAT just under median, GPA at median. Non-URM.

Also, are holds coming through the mail? Are ALL decisions via snail mail, including holds and waitlists?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
