Just a word of advice from someone who pretends everything is LOTR: If a hooded man comes to you and tells you to sleep in his room because dark horsemen are coming to kill you in your sleep, don't do it.

No I mean I don't think I could make that happen for ANY reasonable amount of rent. I don't make anywhere near 45x what I am paying in rent now and my apartment is really, really cheap.

I wouldn't fret over it. You're not even close to the only person who doesn't make 45x their rent in NYC, and I don't think those people are living in hovels and feeding off of stray cats.

I feel like American Psycho is a pretty accurate representation of NYC.
