still with ya cyh... and I hope this is the case (4/2 but nothing since)

Count me in as another 4/2er still standing. Can't believe it's been that long since our last review with no word. My guess is that, at this point, they want to review all the apps before making any decisions (unless you're an auto-ding) since there can only be so many spaces available. Judging from the fact that some people have only just gone under review, I think it's going to be a while. :(

I wouldn't be so sure. I was last UR at 3/30 and am 99% certain I am an auto-ding. Maybe 99.9%.

I'm UR 4/2 -> 4/14. Would love to have a decision this week.

I just don't want to take the June LSAT. :(

When is Chicago's deposit deadline? I assume they can't postpone decisions beyond their own deposit deadline.

Or they could just never issue any decisions for the rest of us. At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if I didn't hear before May, and I'm probably a couple of weeks ahead of some of you (UR 3/23 -> 3/26).

Is this true?

http://chicago.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... order=desc

There are a couple of random decisions in there, but at least some of them are fakes or mistaken dates, possibly all of them.

It took my application over a month to go complete (1/4 submitted -> 2/16 complete). It took over a month to go from complete to UR (2/16 complete -> 3/23 UR). And it will be a month tomorrow from my first UR date without a decision.

Granted, I think I got stuck with exactly the worst submit date (as people who submitted a day or two earlier than I did got decisions in early April), but still. Chicago is ridiculous. Even Cornell made a decision on my app already.

I'm pretty much on the exact same timeline as you, give or take a couple days. Maybe tomorrow?

Yeah hopefully tomorrow... I really hope Chicago got my message that I'm only accepting offers of admission at this point in my cycle. I don't want there to be any confusion when I tell them I simply cannot accept a rejection or WL.

That's what I thought. It's a reasonable assumption. It's even more reasonable to assume that you should at least be complete by their deposit deadline. But apparently, that's not the way it works; people thought I was wrong to expect even that.

but the other side of that coin is that chicago won't make decisions before the deadline because they don't know how many are attending. They have a small class size and they can afford to wait (and possibly alienate a few people). And who knows how the elevation to #5 will affect matriculation? Some people are that fickle.

Which is unfair, since, if it is the case that no one has gotten an acceptance in the past few months, it means that people who applied later were automatically wait-listed.

God damn the US News rankings.

Perfectly fair. Have you ever heard of rolling admissions?

Perfectly fair since, you know, it's rolling admissions.

Yeah, I have to applaud Chicago for being one of the few schools that actually employs a rolling admissions process. You apply early, you hear early, and you have a better shot of getting in. So while it took them nearly four months to hear back, it was nice not to see some guy that submitted at the deadline get accepted before me.

I actually think the entire premise of rolling admissions is really stupid, but I knew going into it that I was getting screwed applying in January (and it wasn't my choice to do so).

Nothing here. I bet it's going to be another week or two. They may just decide to wait until after the deposit deadline.

To be fair, the process isn't really rolling regardless of whatever they say. I applied in November and still don't have a decision.

I would consider it. It's not very likely, but I'd like to see what financial package they offer first.

Damn, sorry GeePee! We haven't caught up in ages, I was sure you would have heard by now. Chi ASD this week was awesome by the way, but I doubt they can lure you away from HLS.
