I'm not sold that this is exclusively an acceptance batch.... I hope it is though. I have had amazing luck this cycle so maybe it will continue.

+1

While most people's stats in this batch are trending toward good or very good, there's enough variability and with (seemingly) almost everyone complete in Nov/Dec receiving a 2/4 update, it seems too good to be true that we'll all receive acceptances :(

With that said, I really hope I'm wrong!

Along the same lines, does anyone have thoughts about the sheer size of this batch? Is it really possible they could admit all of us, especially considering the number of applications they haven't even gotten to yet?

I guess we should all know soon, at least. Here's hoping for lots of phone calls tomorrow!

It's almost definite that not all the UR 2/4s are acceptances. The 2/4 UR basically means you went into committee review which is where they will decide in, out, WL.

At least, IMO.

Got the update today, too. 171/3.75, complete 12/1 -> UR 1/26 -> 2/1 -> 2/4. It took forever to go UR, but things seem to be moving along pretty speedily. I'm crossing my fingers...

But then what kind of review were people in before the 2/4 update? It seems like almost everyone had a prior update.
You know what buddy, I'm a pessimistic fellow. Let me continue thinking that I'm gonna get WLed.

I was complete 11/12 ----> ur 1/11 ----> ur 2/4. Stats are 178/3.75. Wishful thinking is so powerful but I hope you guys are right that 2/4s are admits!

Wait a minute. Aren't you the one who told me (a couple weeks back now) that our quick turnaround between UR dates meant we'd get in for sure? I like the old thinking better.

I was living in la la land. Then some 173 3.8+ guy on here got WLed.

I may have dreamt that, but it was a pretty damn real dream if not true.

Did any of the people who updated to 1/12 right before the 1/13 decisions not get accepted?

Complete in November, UR 1/29, 2/4

Non-traditional student
166/3.67, but I might be considered URM (both for my ethnicity and for my ragingly liberal career goals).

How does Chicago let people know about acceptances?

Chiming in here UR 12/? (Honestly, don't remember the exact date, like the 12th maybe?) --> 1/11--> 2/4

175/ 3.07 GPA (but a couple grad degrees with 3.9+ FWIW) I'm guessing WL

Thanks, crackberry!

I actually had an adviser tell me NOT to apply to Chicago because they were "too conservative." Clearly, I didn't listen to her, but I've always wondered if I would fit in, seeing as I've turned more idealistic as I've gotten older.

1. Couldn't tell if you were being facetious.

2. The underlined is the opposite direction most people take. What's the saying? "If you're not liberal when you're young, you don't have a heart. If you're not conservative when you're old, you don't have a brain." Something like that.
